Piolo Pascual says he is not bothered by rumors of other men courting Shaina Magdayao.
Busy with his teleserye Hawak Kamay
, Piolo Pascual said he was happy to finally spend time at the beach with loved ones recently. “I was with my family for a day kasi my sister arrived from the States. Nagpunta lang kami ng
Batangas just to have a get together with the kids and my siblings. Anim kaming magkakapatid
so it's very seldom that we get together na buo with the kids. Masaya kahit na
I went straight from taping, just to feel na you own your time so to speak,” he said during his launch as endorser of Barley Max food supplement held last September 2 at Crowne Regency hotel in Ortigas.
For the Star Magic Ball this coming Saturday, September 6, the 37-year-old actor admitted he has already asked his Hawak Kamay co-star Iza Calzado to be his date for the night. “I wanted to be with my son kaso he has to do some work in the States before he gets back here. But I'm going to be with Iza because she's not going to be with her boyfriend Ben (Wintle). Sabi ko it will be nice to go together. I asked her and we're friends, nothing more. And it's not even to promote the show. Even Nikki is coming but we're all friends in the ball. Hindi naman kasi kailangan magpaka-showbiz especially in an event like this na eight years na naming ginagawa. We want to be comfortable ‘di ba? So with Iza around, I guess mas magiging kumportable siya kasi she's not from Star Magic so I offered my services (laughs). Si Ben is not going to be able to make it. I think he's watching football or whatever. She asked him naman and we're good,” he explained.
When asked to react to the news that Sam Milby is now reportedly courting Shaina Magdayao, Piolo said there is no bad blood between them because of that. “Sam and I have been friends for a long time ever since he got out of PBB and whatever differences we may have I think we're mature enough to not even cross the line in terms of offending each other I guess. Sam and I are brothers, more than friends. You know we have the same circle of friends and with whatever is happening I guess men don't talk. Wala kaming dapat pag-usapan eh. Nagkakataon na napakaliit ng mundong ginagalawan natin pero I believe we have mutual respect so yun na lang yun. I have so much respect for Sam. We were just together last Sunday. Wala, okay kami. He's like a kid brother to me. Hindi naman siguro kami aabot sa suntukan dahil sa babae (laughs). He's a good man so kung ano mang diskarte niya sa buhay sa kanya na yun ‘di ba?” he said.
The Hawak Kamay star who earlier this year denied rumors that he and Shaina were exclusively dating said she is still very close to him and the rest to his family. “Shaina and I are good. Last Sunday we did a portion on ASAP and we were able to catch up for a bit and I'm going to see her on Saturday also. She's hanging out with my siblings. We're friends and yun ang maganda eh, preserved yung relationship, preserved yung friendship. Kasi naman sa napakaliit na mundo na ginagalawan natin it's important to have trust, to have respect and at the same time, yung kumportable ka lang sa ginagalawan mo. Shai and I are going to be friends for a long time. Kung saan man mapupunta yun, nobody knows right?” he said.
