Janella clarifies joke about wanting to beat Daniel Padilla at the Himig Handog finals

092714-janella_main.jpgThe last thing that Be Careful With My Heart actress Janella Salvador wanted is to earn the ire of Kathniel fans after she commented about wanting to beat her co-interpreter Daniel Padilla on the upcoming Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs finals this Sunday.

This comment was made by Janella during the Be Careful With My Heart Happy Ever After press conference on Thursday wherein they announced the impending end of the phenomenal afternoon kiligserye which is set on November 28.

When asked about what she thinks her chances are in the upcoming finals night, she replied, "I've heard all the songs din, magaganda po lahat.'Di ko po alam ang chances ko, 'di ko po talaga masabi.

But she added, "Sana nga po [manalo] pero sana po ay matalo ko si Daniel sa fans.”

Daniel, who interpreted composer Jungee Marcelo’s “Nasa ‘Yo Na Ang Lahat,” bagged a couple of voters-based awards during last year’s Himig Handog finals. The Teen King interpreted Meljohn Magno’s “Simpleng Tulad Mo” for this year’s contest.

Before she gets slammed by the fans, the “Mahal Kita Pero” interpreter clarified that she is not hard-pressed to beat Daniel.

"Hindi ko naman po sinabi na sana ay ma-beat ko siya. Joke lang po 'yon, kasi given na 'yon na maraming-marami siyang fans. Sana lang ay suportahan ako ng mga tao," she said.

Apart from Daniel, Janella recognizes that she also has to battle a tough competition on the said tilt.

Siyempre nung una kinabahan ako na nakita ko ang mga kalaban ko sila Jed Madela, sila Angeline Quinto,” she said.

Meanwhile, the daughter of singer-actress Jenine Desiderio and singer-songwriter Juan Miguel Salvador was very grateful for the show and all the opportunities that it brought into her life.

“Sobra because itong show na ito it opened so many opportunities sakin. Lalao na ‘yung nakadalawang MMK nako and the show is still running and ang dami ko siguro namang i-improve in terms of acting kasi dati wala talaga akong alam eh,” she said.

After Be Careful, according to Janella, she will be making a teleserye titled OMG opposite her love team Marlo Mortel together with Pinoy Big Brother All In housemate Manolo Pedrosa which is set to air next year.

She admitted though that she was initially scared by the idea of headlining her own soap. “Kasi siyempre it will rely on us na. Pero ako I’ll just do my best as usual.

She continued, “Nagwo-workshop kami now to improve as a love team and as solo actors and actresses. So mas gagalingan ko nalang and sana maiba ‘yung character ko kay Nikki.”
