Cedric Lee and Zimmer Raz posted bail ahead of her and were able to go home already. When Lee was asked if he had plans of helping out Deniece in posting bail, he replied that they have not discussed it. “The last time na nakausap ko po ang kanyang mga abogado at kamag-anak, ang sabi nila, mara-raise naman po nila ‘yung pampiyansa ni Deniece.” According to Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, legal counsel of Cornejo, they will be able to post bail a day after, on September 17.
The day that Lee and Raz were released, Cornejo was also seen attending the preliminary investigation of her perjury case at the Manila RTC. Even after being released temporarily, she still has to go face the cases of grave coercion, serious illegal detention, and perjury filed against her.
Nonong Kho, Cornejo’s uncle, shared their family’s sentiments. "We are very elated with this development, and I think soon enough, victory is on the side of Deniece Cornejo.”
