Nikki Gil on Billy Crawford incident:

091214-nikki_main.jpgActress Nikki Gil speaks up about the latest controversy involving her ex-boyfriend Billy Crawford. In an interview with the ABS-CBN News reporters at the Mercedes Benz event, Nikki was asked to comment on the drunken incident involving the actor.

"I was asked about it, which I don't understand because I'm not involved in any way. But I wasn't raised to celebrate the misfortune of others. I guess that's all I have to say about the issue," Nikki remarked.

The Hawak Kamay actress was also asked to share her thoughts about the comments of some fans that Billy was better off with her as the actor was never involved in a controversy during the course of their relationship.

"I don't want to comment on that. I also want to respect the people that we are [with] currently. You know, there are other parties involved din, eh. Respetuhin nalang natin 'yon. I really don't want to comment on that," Nikki stated.

Nikki and Billy were in a five-year relationship before breaking up last year. Billy confirmed their separation in an interview with The Buzz on July of the previous year and has since been dating his It's Showtime co-host Coleen Garcia. Meanwhile Nikki is seeing businessman BJ Albert.

Billy Crawford was charged of malicious mischief and disobedience on Monday, September 8, 2014, after he run amok inside a police station at The Fort, Taguig City last Sunday. The actor was reportedly drunk when the incident happened.

"It was my fault for actually being aggressive. It's a good thing it didn't happen in a bar, it didn't happen anywhere else. It happened in a precinct. The reason why is because I knew for a fact I needed to be in a controlled environment. So as I said, I really apologize to the officers if I said anything derogatory or anything else," Billy said in a statement after the incident.
