Ryan Bang settles tax evasion case with BIR

080814-ryan_main.jpgComedian Ryan Bang has finally settled the tax evasion case lodged against him by the Bureau of Internal Revenue in January of last year.

The Korean actor happily shared the news in a recent interview saying that, "Maayos na nagbayad naman ako doon. According to the Hawak Kamay star he would be able to have his loan from ABS-CBN fully paid by next month.

In a statement released last year, the BIR claimed that the It's Showtime host failed to file any income or percentage tax returns for 2010 and 2011, even though he received income from several companies including ABS-CBN Corp., Summit Publishing, and Studio 23.

Based on the tax filings of the three aforementioned companies, among others, Ryan received at least P3.05 million in income in 2010 and 2011. BIR said that Ryan violated sections 254 and 255 of the National Internal Revenue Code and computed his deficiency income and percentage taxes for 2010 and 2011 at P1.8million.

Ryan unabashedly claimed that he never intended to commit such violation saying that, "Hindi ko sinasadya na hindi ako nagbayad, kung alam ko lang talaga…

Despite being put in a bad light, Ryan said he doesn't feel any remorse whatsoever.

Kahit papaano nangutang ako at binayaran ko lahat," he explained.
