ABS-CBN artists join this year’s Cinemalaya Film Festival.

Kapamilya stars participate in 2014 Cinemalaya film festival
080514-cinema2_main.jpgSeveral ABS-CBN artists participated in this year's Cinemalaya film festival, like Be Careful With My Heart star Aiza Seguerra who stars in Carlos Siguion-Reyna's film titled Hari ng Tondo. The movie is about a grandfather who brings his grandchildren to the community where he grew up only to find out that the place is no longer the same.

Richard Gomez stars in a movie titled The Janitor. The film is about an ex-cop named Crisanto Espina who is tasked with eliminating the suspects of a robbery. The film is directed by Michael Tuviera.

Kapamilya stars Coleen Garcia, Kit Thompson, and Slater Young headline the movie titled #Y which chronicles the adventures of today's generation whose world revolves around social media, internet, sex, drugs, alcohol, and occasional YOLO. #Y is directed by Gino Santos.

Former Dyesebel star Eula Valdez headlines Giancarlo Abrahan V's Dagitab which tells of a woman who is involved in a scandal with a young student while her marriage is on the verge of falling apart.

Mylene Dizon stars in Milo Sogueco's Mariquina. The film tells the story of Imelda who is indifferent towards shoes. To her, they are fraught with the bittersweet nostalgia of childhood, one that was marred by a difficult relationship with her shoemaker father, Romeo. Growing up, all of her shoes were handmade by him. Now a mature woman, she takes a pivotal call from the morgue, spurring her search for the perfect pair of shoes for her dead father. The deeper she searches for the perfect shoes, the more she finds herself.

Ai-Ai de las Alas and Carlo Aquino headline Nick Olanka's Ronda. The movie is about a policewoman who patrols Manila during the night arrests her teenage son for killing his lover.

Erik Santos, Jason Abalos, and Victor Neri star in Separados which tells the story of the bittersweet, comic, and tragic tales of six men who have separated from their wives. The film is directed by Giuseppe Bede Sampedro. 

Cinemalaya runs from August 1 to 10 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Trinoma, Greenbelt 3 and Alabang Town Center.
