Maja Salvador on writing her own music: ‘Na-i-in love na ako’

030414-maja_main.jpgAs her second music video “Halika Na” debuts later this month, Maja Salvador admitted she is excited at the thought of her album turning Platinum after reaching Gold status. And sobrang masaya ako na nakakapag-perform na ako,” she shared. The 25-year-old singer collaborated with rapper Abra for the second released single in her album “Believe” under Ivory records.

Having only joined the music industry this year, Maja said she has accepted that there will always be people who will have something to say about her singing. But just like she does when someone critiques her acting, she has learned to take everything with a grain of salt.

Maja said she wants to be a role model for the youth who are trying to reach for her dreams because she also idolized total performers like Jennifer Lopez growing up. So sabi nga dahan dahan lang, may tamang oras.

With the success of her sold-out concert last July, Maja said she is so inspired to become an even better performer for the next projects coming her way which reportedly includes a new teleserye and another album deal. “After maraming sumuporta dun sa first major concert ko, sobrang parang mas na-excite pa ako na sana may mga bagong songs pa na ibigay sa akin. Or ako naman yung magsulat, kung i-po-produce ako ulit. Na-i-in love na ako, ito na yung bago kong kina-i-in-love-an, the music industry. After writing the song “Buong Gabi” for her debut album, Maja said she wants to be able to do a ballad for her next composition.

Even with a packed schedule, Maja said she never forgets to indulge in some “me” time even if it means just squeezing in an hour or two for herself during work days. “Siyempre parang after Legal Wife may pahinga naman, naging busy din ako sa album tour, parang iniikot namin nationwide, out-of-town talaga. Tapos siyempre may mga TFC shows out-of-the-country din. Pero since mall tour ganyan, siyempre after the event meron kang time naman din sa sarili mo.
