Judy Ann Santos believes that Sharon Cuneta knows better than committing suicide even with her depression.
The public's concern of the actress’s well-being took off from the recent suicide of Hollywood star Robin Williams who, like Sharon, also suffered from depression.
Juday, in an interview at the press conference of her upcoming realiserye I Do, shared that they never lost touch with one another despite of her busy schedule.
"Hindi naman nawala ‘yung communication namin ni Ate Sharon, nagte-text-an kami once in a while. Pero hindi lang din talaga kami nagkikita," she sadly explained.
Aware of the current ordeal of her ate, Juday went out of her way to personally check how Sharon was doing lately. "That Monday [August 18], nag-decide ako na puntahan na talaga siya kasi matagal na kaming hindi nagkikita. Para lang makumusta, para lang makapag-usap, makipagkuwentuhan... ganun naman kami. Ako, I’m very grateful na hanggang ngayon ay na-preserve ko ang friendship namin, kasi it’s something na hindi mo makikita sa ibang tao," Juday said.
Many worried over the seasoned actress's emotional state after claiming in her revelatory Facebook post that she got "lost" and "rebellious" since she began experiencing midlife crisis.
Judy Ann assured that her ate is now slowly getting past that phase in her life but is still in need of prayers and understanding so that "ma-overcome niya yung struggles na pinagdadaanan niya. And that’s why we’re here for her."
"She’s doing okay. She’s coping, she’s trying to work things out. She said naman in her post na medyo nandun siya, dumaan siya sa state of depression and state of loneliness. Pero all I can say now is ang daming acceptance and realization ni ate," Juday added.
What advice did she give Sharon? "Ay, ang sabi ko lang sa kanya is, ‘Ate, go, halika na at tumakbo na tayo!'" She proudly related.
Amid her depression, the I Do host is certain that Sharon won't be contemplating suicide. "Siya mismo ang nagsabi na hindi mangyayari ‘yon. Depression can come in the ugliest form, 'di ba? 'Yung suicide moment, ‘yon ang isang bagay na hinding-hindi niya gagawin. Kasi knowing ate, she’s better than that," she ended.
