Kris Aquino says she is not pressured to create another horror blockbuster.
A decade after her blockbuster horror movie Feng Shui, Kris Aquino is excited to reprise her role as the Joy, the unlucky real estate agent whose life was totally changed when she came into possession of a mysterious bagua mirror. The 43-year-old host-actress clarified that this is not a sequel and this time, the story will revolve around Coco Martin's character.
Coco.
movie. This is not part two, kasi sabi ni direk
Chito Rono ayaw niya talaga gumawa ng sequel. Ang gusto niya
continuation of the story. Actually kailangan ko aminin na si
Coco Martin may idea. Nung
Juan Dela Cruz presscon sinabi niya na gusto niya mag-
horror at nagustuhan niya ang
Feng Shui. Nabasa ko yun. Atribida ako
so I texted direk Chito, I asked if he was interested and he said of course kasi gustong gusto niya makatrabaho si
Coco,” she admitted.
From the original cast, Kris said only Cherry Pie Picache, Jonee Gamboa, and Lotus Feet will be reprising their roles. Other new members of the cast include Carmi Martin, Joem Bascon, and Ian Veneracion. Kris said she is also excited to work again with direk Chito whom Coco first thought was a scary director. “Hindi siya masungit. I’ll defend him. He’ll love Coco kasi sobrang professional si direk.
After starring in popular horror films like Sukob, Dalaw, and Segunda Mano, Kris said she has nothing but high hopes for Feng Shui 2. Yung script kasi excited silang lahat, sobra nilang pinapaganada. Tapos lahat naman ng mga death scenes, kasi yun naman yung mga inaabangan natin, I know it’s going to Christmas [dahil MMFF] pero para maiba naman, ang bobongga. Ang ganda, nakakatuwa. I think also kasi ang horror also needs to appeal to the male audience at yun yung dadalhin ni Coco. Filming for the Star Cinema MMFF film entry is set to start end of August.
When asked if there will be a love angle between her and Coco in the movie, Kris said they will not have any romantic connection. “Wala, meron siyang girlfriend. May boyfriend ako, wow (laughs). Sa movie may boyfriend ako. Buhay siya (laughs),” she added.
