Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera answer questions about their engagement

<div><img src='' alt='081614-dongyan_main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'><a href='https://push-data.abs-cbn.com/push/archive/features/15599/dingong-dantes-proposes-to-marian-rivera-on-national-tv/'>With Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes’s recent engagement, some people couldn’t help but view Dingdong’s public proposal</a> as something to do with his rumored political plans.</div><div><br/></div><div>During their Royal Announcement press conference on Friday, Dingdong cried foul over the accusation that he’s using his personal life to gain sympathy for the upcoming 2016 elections.</div><div><br/></div><div>Calling the rumor a “pretty unfair judgment” he lamented, <i>“Para sa akin lang naman, ibinabalik lang namin ito.</i> Like what we’ve said, everyone has been part of our love story. May option <i>din naman talaga kami</i> to really keep this private, <i>but hindi namin mede</i>-deny <i>ang</i> fact that we both started in GMA. <i>Nagkakilala kami dahil sa isang </i>TV show <i>[Marimar].”</i></div><div><br/></div><div>The actor-host went on to explain that they announced their engagement for the fans who supported them ever since they started as a couple. “You were with us in all of our milestones together. <i>Itong pag-iisang dibdib namin</i>, we also consider this as an event that will be really memorable<i> sa amin. Kumbaga sa </i>milestone, <i>pinakamatindi para sa aming dalawa,”</i> Dingdong said.</div><div><br/></div><div>The star highlighted that their life would “definitely be private” after their wedding, but “in celebrations, in occasions like this, I think it’s just right to invite our dear friends, <i>mga taong naging bahagi talaga ng samahan namin.”</i></div><div><br/></div><div>He also clarified that seeking public office remains on the backburner for now. “As of now, <i>wala talaga. Sobrang dami naman ng aking responsibilidad</i>, especially in my soon-to-be-husband thing. So,<i> 'andun muna ako,</i>” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Another issue that cropped up after their sudden announcement was that Marian is supposedly pregnant. <i>“Hindi pa, sayang sana magdilang anghel ka,” </i>she said. She added, <i>“Oo gusto na talaga. Mas lalo siya,</i>” pointing to her fiancé.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>“‘Yung totoo talaga gusto na talaga namin pero siyempre marami kaming kino</i>-consider like for example<i> kelan ‘yan? Kasi ‘di ba minsan kapag hindi mo pinaplano dumarating pero </i>anything’s possible,” Marian continued.</div><div><br/></div><div></div><div><br/></div><div><img src='' alt='081614-dongyan_main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Dingdong openly addressed the fact that he and Marian will be discussing about prenuptial agreement. <i>“Paguusapan palang namin ‘yan. ‘Yan ang isa sa mga bagay na hindi maaaring hindi pansinin.</i> Yes definitely it’s part of our agenda that we have to finalize,” he shared.</div><div><br/></div><div>With money being the root of many problems in a marriage, Dingdong said, <i>“Ayaw naming mangyari ‘yon base narin sa mga nakita naming</i> experiences<i> ng mga tao </i>in the past that’s why<i> ito’y isang bagay n</i>a<i> dapat liwanagin rin.”</i></div><div><br/></div><div><b>Wedding details </b></div><div>Marian and Dingdong shared that their wedding will be on December 30 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao. They revealed that they chose the aforementioned church because <i>“Ang unang-una pong naging </i>factor<i> namin para pumili ng lugar</i> is a place<i> kung saan</i> it’s both meaningful <i>sa amin pareho. </i>Since<i> dun ako lumaki dun sa </i>area <i>na yun</i>—in fact, <i>dun ako bininyagan—pero ‘yan din yung isa sa mga simbahan na madalas naming puntahan [ni </i>Marian] when we got together. Aside from the fact that it’s very beautiful inside.”</div><div><br/></div><div><a href='https://push-data.abs-cbn.com/push/archive/features/15631/dingdong-dantes-and-marian-rivera-to-wed-this-year/'>The couple admitted that they never really made plans from the moment that they got engaged the first time</a>, some two years ago  which is why there are still a lot of details about the wedding that they are in the process of finalizing.</div><div><br/></div><div>But what is sure though is that Marian’s Maids of Honor would be her celebrity best friends Ana Feleo and Roxanne Barcelo while Dingdong would have his brother Angelo Dantes as his Best Man. Even if they are yet to speak with the other personalities whom they hope will be their principal sponsors, Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto would definitely be part of it.</div><div><br/></div><div>“Actually<i>, nung natapos yung Marian</i>… (the TV special where the proposal took place) <i>siya</i> (Governor Vilma) <i>ang isa sa mga kauna-unahang nag-</i>text <i>sa akin, na nag-c</i>ongratulate. <i>Sabi niya, </i>‘Congratulations, <i>my inaanak.’</i> So, <i>alam niyo na ‘yun. Sobrang</i> sweet<i> niya,</i>” the 30-year-old actress revealed.</div><div><br/></div><div>Dingdong shared that they originally wanted to tie the knot on December 8.<i> “Pero</i> since Immaculate Conception day <i>‘yun, hindi po</i> available yung Immaculate Conception Church <i>dahil maraming kaganapan sa araw na iyon.
