Even though she finally went public about her relationship with Matteo Guidicelli recently, Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo remains reluctant in fully sharing other details about their romance.
“Sabi ko i-admit na tapos 'yun na, wala ng follow up na questions. Para hindi rin sabihin ng mga tao na 'Itong si Sarah, puro deny,'" she reasoned during a taped interview on The Buzz which aired on Sunday.
Her privacy, Sarah says, remains to be her utmost priority especially since "Hindi rin kasi naiintindihan ng lahat kung ano yung pinagdadaanan natin, kung ano 'yung rason kung bakit kailangan pribado muna."
But according to The Voice Kids coach, she's actually surprised that she even had to blatantly admit her relationship with the i-Shine Talent Camp 3 host.
"Kumbaga 'yung actions namin, lumalabas naman kami, hindi naman kami nagtatago akala ko magiging enough 'yun, na parang automatic na 'yun,” she said laughing.
Sarah's reluctance to open up stems from The Buzz host Toni Gonzaga's question as to when she actually fell in love with the hunk actor-host which she answered with “'Yun ang parang hindi ko na maibigay na details pa. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, oo aaminin ko pero 'yung details sana sa amin na lang."
However, she gladly admitted that she sees Matteo as someone "worth keeping."
“Ako siyempre kapag nagmahal ka ng isang tao, lagi mong tinitignan 'yun na worth keeping," she said.
Reports have it that Sarah's admission was prodded by her Mommy Divine's approval of Matteo. Even if she didn't confirm the rumors, Sarah nevertheless revealed that what made her decide to come clean about their romance is the fact that she's about to turn 26 "parang na-realize ko lang sa sarili ko na it’s time to decide na maging normal, maging normal na tao, na babae, maging normal sa emosyon ko. There’s nothing wrong with it."
Her coming out though is not without certain limits and reminders from her parents, which she says she fully understands and appreciates.
“Ang parents kasi hindi natatapos ang kanilang pagpapaalala, especially tayo babae eh kasi sa mga lalaki walang mawawala eh. Kailangan talaga alam natin kung paano pag-ingatan ang mga sarili natin. Of course we are not perfect. Tao rin tayo, mga babae tayo and part of loving is talagang being with that someone. Iba talaga na kasama mo siya. pero importante na matutunan mo yung self-control. Unang una sa lahat, yung faith mo sa Diyos na hindi dapat minamadali ang mga bagay bagay,” she said.
With their romance in full bloom, what has Matteo taught her so far?
"'Yung life is short eh. Oo nga artista tayo, mga public figures tayo pero it is also our right to live our life to the fullest, experience life, enjoy life, grow, mature and be a 26 years old," she ended.
