Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo reigned supreme in this year’s 100 Most Beautiful Stars
list gathered by entertainment glossy, YES! Magazine
. During the launch of the 100 Most Beautiful Stars special issue held at The Elements on Tuesday, YES!
’s editor-in-chief Jo-Ann Maglipon revealed that Sarah’s selection to be this year’s cover was actually “unanimous decision” by her team.
“We all just felt that she’s at her prime,” she said, adding that, “Wala namang kukwestiyon sa desisyon na ito kahit ‘yung mga asungot, they really can’t say anything.”
Selecting Sarah, as she explained, was more than just her obvious success and beauty. “Sarah is not only pretty and talented in acting, in singing, and dancing. She’s also as we all know a very good person, with a very strong sense of family, a strong sense of gratefulness for all the people she’s worked with. I hear that constantly and I believe it. Even as she says that she feels almost superior when she’s performing, I think even when she’s not performing, she’s a superior woman,” Jo-Ann said.
Sarah, who now ranks among past Most Beautiful Stars such as Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes (2013), Anne Curtis (2012), John Lloyd Cruz (2011), and Marian Rivera (2009), shared that she was actually shocked to be chosen to top the annual star-studded list.
“The first time that I heard about it, sabi ko, 'Totoo ba 'yan? Nahihiya naman ako.' Hindi lang one of the beautiful stars kundi most beautiful talaga. Maraming maraming salamat po. Kumbaga, in-acknowledge kasi ang kabuuuan namin bilang isang tao, naming lahat. Hindi lang 'yung physical pero kung ano ang nai-i-offer namin sa industriya as a person,” she said.
On a personal level, Sarah explained that a peaceful heart is really what makes a person beautiful. “… Kapag meron siyang peace sa puso niya, pagmamahal, genuine na happiness, contentment. Alam niya kung ano ang strengths niya, alam niya rin kung ano ang weaknesses niya," The Voice Kids coach said.
Sarah surmised that what made her stand out as beautiful from the hundred others on the list is the way she has led her life and how she worked her way from the bottom which she hopes inspired many young dreamers in the country.
Despite much-prodding, Sarah has managed to give generous enough answers to the press with keep her privacy intact. This new Sarah somehow offered a stark contrast from how she once were in terms of being reluctant in sharing details of her life.
Asked if she ever felt pressured by the press about her personal life, she opened up. “To be honest, noong una po, noong mga unang years ko sa industry parang hindi ko maintindihan bakit sila ganito. Bakit sila judgmental.
