As matriarch of one of the most well-loved celebrity families today, Cheska Garcia Kramer admitted she appreciates all the positive comments she has been getting from Team Kramer fans. “Of course I feel very happy and flattered that a lot of people are interested in the family, most especially my kids. They really love my kids and a big part of it is because of my children,” she shared.
The host-actress recently attended the LG G3 launch at the Enderun tent in Taguig city. “With somebody who's so active on social media and wants to capture every moment, the phone would have to be the fest features for me,” she shared.
Cheska and her husband Doug recently went on a trip to Singapore with kids Kendra, Scarlet, and Gavin. The 34-year-old said that every moment on the trip was memorable for her so she cannot think of one singular favorite day. “Actually every moment was memorable because it's a first for Gavin. It's his first time to go out of the country. Although it's not the first time for Kendra and Scarlet but it's the first time with their brother and their first time to go to Singapore. Watching their faces and everything that they saw there was irreplaceable,” she admitted.
The mini-vacation was actually a request from their eldest daughter. “The trip was really more for the kids. It was for Kendra's birthday. So there was no big party but she requested to go to Singapore. We stayed in Sentosa, the reason being that it was right near Universal Studios and all the other kids activities that we could possibly do there. For shopping, I just bought one pair of shoes and that's it (laughs). The rest for the kids na,” she added.
In the future, Cheska said she wants to bring her kids to another Asian destination. “We're talking about going to Japan out of curiosity. Everyone's going there so we want to see what the big fuss is all about. Of course for the food, their culture is so rich with history and at the same time they also have a lot of stuff for kids. They have a building where you can role play and I think it's opening here in Manila. That's one thing and they have other stuff that they offer also for kids,” she said.
As one of the most active celebrities on social media, Team Kramer fans look forward to photos of the kids everyday. Cheska said she and Doug really take turns thinking of the captions for the posts. Although she said some may not approve of making their family photos public, Cheska said she does not see anything wrong with it. “No. Pictures lang yun eh. Simple pictures that we post. Actually some people think that we're overexposing the kids. That we're overexposed. But if you come to think of it, you don't see us on TV everyday and if you guys see us on TV it's only in commercials. What you see is on our social media which is on Facebook and our Instagram accounts So they can't possibly say we are doing that,” she explained.
Cheska also said her kids are not being forced to pose for the camera so they are not being manipulated. In fact, she said she and Doug try their best to give them a normal family life. “Sometimes they pose. Then sometimes they would say, 'Take a picture of me.' but most of the time those are captured moments with the family that we share and there's nothing wrong with that. I don't see anything wrong with the things that we post and overexposure. You can't say that we're overexposing them. None of the kids are in showbiz and everything that they do are just commercials. In fact, we've turned down a lot of offers for Kendra. Offers to do a TV show, offers to do movies. If only you guys knew the things that are being offered to her and because she just turned five years old, parang Doug and I, especially Doug, feel that she doesn't have to work. Because we're working naman. But of course the commercials are just commercials and there's nothing wrong with that. It doesn't take her away from her schooling. She's still a normal girl,” she said.
The Ang TV alumni said she is more open to Kendra becoming a child star than her husband who is not in showbiz. “Actually ako since I'm an actress so I'm okay with it. Si Doug yung may ayaw. Pero pag ako okay lang sa akin kasi I also enjoyed. I also had fun. Iba rin yung you get to deal with other people from all walks of life. Iba rin yung experience. But Doug always says the experience will come when she's ready for it. We don't want for Kendra, Scarlet or Gavin to think like they don't need their parents because they can do things on their own. Of course I don't speak for other children who are working okay, but this is what Doug and I think lang, that the time will come where she will be more ready to do that and it's not the right time now,” she said.
