Dina Bonnevie on Pauleen Luna: ‘It's not right for people to judge her’

As wife to Ilocos Sur Vice Governor DV Savellano, the talented actress said she takes her duties to the province very seriously.</div><div><br/></div><div>“I'm really a workaholic. <i>Hindi ko na siguro matanggal sa akin yun na parang siguro</i> if I don't work I'll die.  In fact <i>natanong na ako nung</i> elections<i> na</i> as the wife of the vice-governor what are my projects<i> daw. Sabi ko hindi naman ako empleyado ng kapitolyo</i> but they say <i>na dapat may gagawin ka din</i> for the province. So that’s what I work so hard for, to promote the products of Ilocos, <i>yung mga banig nila, yung mga almires, yung</i> woodcraft at rattan craft, <i>yun ang talagang pinagtratrabahuan ko ng husto. Pag hindi ako nag-te</i>-taping, <i>may ginagawa nga akong</i> label,<i> yung mga</i> bags. That's actually the advocacy of my husband<i> kasi</i> he wants to promote Ilocos products and as the wife of the vice-governor <i>tinutulungan ko siya na i</i>-promote <i>yun,</i>” she shared during the grand presscon of <i>Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon</i> held last June 3 at Chandelle Events Place in Quezon City. </div><div><br/></div><div>When asked about whether she wants her ex-husband Vic Sotto to get married again, Dina said she just wants him to be happy. <i>“Sa akin parang hindi naman</i> necessarily wishing <i>na mag-asawa siya kasi</i> there are some people who are not marrying types <i>talaga.</i> There are some people who love a companion but afraid when it comes to commitment. I'm not saying he's like that p<i>ero parang siguro tinitingnan ko lang yung</i> track record <i>palaging ganun lang</i>.  I think<i> kasi</i> for Vic it will be very difficult for him to get married. Maybe <i>siguro mahihirapan siya kasi</i> whoever will marry him has to deal with Danica and Oyo, has to deal with Paulina <i>na anak niya kay</i> Angela (Luz) and Vico<i> na anak niya </i>with Coney (Reyes)<i>. Ako</i> never <i>ako nakikialam pero</i> of course Coney and Angela<i> nakikita pa rin niya</i> every week. I mean what woman can put up with that kind of set up <i>‘di ba? Ako </i>at least out <i>na ako diyan</i>. I have my own life now. <i>Siguro</i> for him, first of all I wish him good health and his own happiness. If his happiness means being with someone who can take care of him, who can sincerely be with him through thick and thin, in sickness and in health, then fine,” she admitted.</div><div><br/></div><div></div><div><br/></div><div><img src='' alt='060514-dina_main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>With Vic's current relationship with Pauleen Luna who is younger than him by more than 30 years, Dina said age should not be the defining factor as to whether their love is genuine. “Of course a lot of people probably judge Pauleen <i>kasi parang bata yan</i>. ‘How can she be falling in love with a 60-year-old, come on,<i>’ di ba? Parang</i> it's next to impossible, <i>pero hindi natin ma</i>-judge <i>yung tao eh. Iniisip ko na lang parang</i> through all this she has to deal with Danica, with Oyo, with Vico and Paulina and that's not an easy task to do. So the mere fact <i>na nandiyan sya eh di </i>it must be something,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Dina also touched on the fact that Vic, Pauleen, and Vic's ex-girlfriend Pia Guanio all still work together on the same noontime show. “Can you imagine? <i>Tapos andun pa yung </i>ex-girlfriend slash I-don't-know-what (laughs). <i>Di ba ang hirap? Parang sa loob loob ko lang,</i> why doesn't one of them resign? <i>Ano ba</i>. I'm appalled. How can you be in the same show, come on. Parang can't one of you resign? <i>Siguro</i> they like being a happy family <i>pero kung ako ang nasa</i> shoes<i> ni</i> Pauleen <i>mahihirapan ako kasi </i>here's ex-girlfriend slash co-host, whatever,” she added.</div><div><br/></div><div>The <i>Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon</i> actress said she has never harbored any ill-feelings against Pauleen. “I was never bitter. What I'm trying to say is she has a lot to put up with. But the mere fact that she's still there, maybe it's not right for people to judge her na she's not sincere. Kasi some people will say that she's after the money, <i>ganyan. Pero</i> can you imagine what the girl has to put up with, <i>lahat yun?</i> ‘A’ for effort<i> yun</i>, <i>parang</i> wow. <i>Parang hindi naman madali yun. Yung sa akin lang ha, sana kung talagang nagmamahalan sila hanggang sa pagputi ng buhok ni</i> Vic, <i>kay magkasakit siya </i>or whatever, and she has to deal with so many other moms except me (laughs). <i>Kung totoo sana nandun pa siya. Pero</i> we can only say that <i>pag talagang ilang </i>years<i> na.</i> How long <i>na ba sila? Parang </i>two years <i>pa lang ata.</i>  Don't know<i> kasi hindi ko naman sinusubaybayan yung buhay nila,”</i> she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Dina said she and her ex-husband have always maintained a very good relationship even after they separated. <i>“Kasi pagdating kay</i> Vic, we're very good friends. Maybe not as close as we were before<i> kasi</i> before <i>kahit na hiwalay na kami</i> we talk to each other. <i>Nagku-kuwentuhan kami. Minsan magkukuwento siya</i> about his girlfriend,<i> minsan kakamustahin niya yung</i> boyfriend<i> ko. Pero ngayon siyempre hindi na kasi meron na akong asawa</i> and <i>ayoko na makialam</i> and Vic knows<i> na</i> whatever it’s worth,<i> kung meron namang mangyari </i>and he needs my help, I'll always be here. You cannot change the fact that he's still the father of my children and I don’t think my present husband ever dares to take that seat and act as father to my children. He's very kind and very supportive to them but he understands that he will never take the seat as their father in the same way that I will never take the same seat as mother to his children because they have a mom,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>As parents to Danica and Oyo, Dina said she will always want the best for Vic and she thinks it might be the best for him to just settle down with someone more within his age group for practical reasons. <i>“Ang</i> wish <i>ko kay</i> Vic is to be happy, sincerely happy and<i> kung sino man ang magmamahal sa kanya ng</i> sincerely and truthfully I hope it will last forever. But there's no such thing as forever <i>di ba</i> so <i>yun na lang, sana</i> he will find someone who will really take care of him<i>. Ang</i> fear<i> ko lang kasi kapag masyadong bata, kasi na-</i>experience <i>ko yun sa </i>sister<i> ko </i>who is married to someone 14 years older than her.<i> Eh eto </i>more than 14 years. In the beginning it was okay later on she was getting bored. <i>Gusto pa niyang mag-</i>party<i>, sumayaw, mag-k</i>araoke at travel whereas the husband just wants to stay home.<i> Yun ang fini</i>-fear <i>ko. Parang it</i> wouldnt mean in the future that she's not sincere or <i>nagloloko siya</i> but that's a natural reaction of a person. You can eventually outgrow your mate. Whereas if he gets somebody his age, ang mindset ng tao na yun mag-aalagaan sila.
