From the glory days of Miss Universe 1979 Gloria Diaz to the pioneering win of Miss World 2013 Megan Young, our country has undeniably put the beauty queen on the same pedestal as the movie star and sports hero.  They have not only brought pride to our country by bagging titles and crowns in international pageants, they have also won our hearts by being real people by championing the resilience of our people as a nation. </div><div><br/></div><div>The recent batch of queens have done so well that the pressure has been on for the succeeding winners.  Most of them have eventually joined showbiz and some have chosen to remain active in their causes.  This week, we follow the Instagram accounts of @biancamanalo, @araarida, @onlyvenusraj, @supsupshamcey, @tugononjanine, @meganbata and @msbeasantiago and discover their journeys through photos, their interesting quirks, partake in moments with loved ones, and of course marvel at their natural beauty  set in their respective natural settings.
