Although it’s not their first time to reunite on a project after their split, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson admitted that they still need to break the ice during their recent TV commercial.
The former reel and real life tandem, collectively known as Kimerald, was recently seen onscreen for a coffee commercial together with Matteo Guidicelli and Jessy Mendiola, four years since they parted ways.
In two separate interviews aired on The Buzz on Sunday, Gerald explained the reason for their discomfort.
“Wala naman siyempre matagal narin ‘yung pinagsamahan naming kumbaga pero sa tagal narin na hindi kami nagsama siyempre nandoon narin ‘yung konting ilan,” said the Dyesebel star.
Did he have to ask his girlfriend, actress Maja Salvador’s permission before taking on the project?
"Hindi naman kumbaga trabaho ‘yun eh."
Recall that Maja happens to be Kim’s former best friend with whom she had a tiff but recently reconciled with.
The Ikaw Lamang star for her part shared that their reunion was “fine” and “parang walang nangyari and all’s well that ends well.”
Echoing Gerald’s statement, she shared that they were initially uncomfortable.
“Oo yeah may hiyaan factor sa umaga pero hanggang tanghali, naghapon [wala na siya]. Ilang taon na ‘yun, nakalipas na ‘yun, kalimutan na natin ‘yun. Tapusin na natin ang drama sa life, pang-teleserye lang ‘yun,”she said.
Maja in a recent Push report was actually happy that her boyfriend had a chance to work with Kim anew.
“Ako I am very happy na magkatrabaho sila ulit kasi ang dami nilang fans eh. Para sa akin sobrang importante na mapagbibigyan ang fans kasi ang laki ng utang na loob nila eh, sa fans nila, so happy ako na okay silang magkatrabaho,” she said.
Meanwhile, Kim’s rumored flame Xian Lim likewise expressed approval over the reunion saying that it’s nothing but work.
Recall that this wasn’t the first time that Kimerald was seen together, early this year photos of the two working together for a jewelry brand that they’re endorsing spread like wildfire online sending their loyal fans and netizens abuzz.
