Bong Revilla is now in Camp Crame to be detained after his arrest warrant was released for graft and plunder charges.
The senator surrendered to the Sandigang Bayan this morning before heading to Camp Crame. Bong reiterated that he is innocent from all the cases filed against him. "I am innocent of the charges. I am just a victim of dirty politics," he stated in an interview with ABS-CBN News before he surrendered.
Supporters of the senator rallied behind him and prayed over him before he surrendered Friday morning. Bong and his family also visited a church at Bacoor, Cavite before heading to the Sandigang Bayan.
Bong will be filing a motion for bail before the anti-graft court since plunder is a non-bailable offense according to his lawyer Joel Bodegon.
Bong is allegedly involved in a P10 billion-peso pork barrel scam that was allegedly headed by Janette Napoles. He is accused of accumulating 242 million-pesos of public funds. Bong denied the accusations and said that his signature in the pork barrel releases was forged. The senator also accused the Aquino government of persecution.
In an interview with TV Patrol’s anchor Noli de Castro last Thursday, the senator said that he’s ready to face the arrest warrant.
He once again stressed that he is not involved in the pork barrel scam.
