As part of the cast of the Skylight films' movie My Illegal Wife, comedian Empoy Marquez said he is thankful to be offered another project in the Kapamilya network. Dati squid balls lang po (laughs),” he said.
In My Illegal Wife, Empoy plays the role of Zanjoe Marudo's stepbrother.
Known for his unforgettable punchlines onscreen, the humble comedian said his scenes in My Illegal Wife are no less different and explains the process behind coming up with the funniest jokes. Tulong-tulong kami,” he said.
Off-camera, Empoy described himself as a simple guy from the province who commutes to Manila whenever he has work.
Growing up being a big fan of comedy, Empoy said he has always been a natural comedian even when he was small and still looks up to a lot of veteran comedians.
When it comes to his dream role, the musician-turned-actor said he wants to do something out of his comfort zone.
Easily distinguishable because of his hippie looks and long hair, Empoy said there is actually good reason why he chose to look different and grow a moustache.
Watch Empoy in My Illegal Wife still showing in cinemas nationwide, also starring Pokwang, Zanjoe Marudo, and Ellen Adarna under Skylight Films.
