Toni Gonzaga admits that she would probably have reacted differently if sister Alex was tasked to do the nude painting task.
Host Toni Gonzaga remained unperturbed by the flak drawn by the nude painting task given by Kuya to Pinoy Big Brother All In housemate Jayme Jalandoni which the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) took notice of.
“Lahat naman ‘yun task naman. Everything naman na ginagawa sa PBB under the supervision of Endemol, the one in charge sa Big Brother franchise,” she reasoned during the launch of her fifth solo album Celestine on June 10.
She even insisted that these tasks have been “approved” by Endemol. “Hindi naman sila gagawa ng isang bagay na hindi nila kino-konsulta sa isang programa.”
Just like the previous controversial tasks given to the housemates of the past PBB seasons, Toni underscored that, "Kapag nagbigay ng go-signal at na-approve 'yon. ibig sabihin may kabuuang konsepto 'yon na makakatulong sa tao na binigyan ng challenge na 'yon. Alam naman ni Kuya 'yon.”
While many think that Kuya has gone overboard by giving the now retracted task to Jayme who is known for having conservative parents, Toni maintained that the show knows its “limitations.” “Everything is just really to test a person's principle and values na kinalakihan," she said.
Personally though, Toni has nothing against people who have no issues bearing their skin because as she said, “Ako kasi, feeling ko, there are people who can shed clothes for art. May mga taong kayang gawin ‘yun at may mga taong hindi kayang gawin ‘yun."
Furthermore she maintained that she along with the show’s executives and producers are already used to raising some eyebrows every season. "I think sanay na kami. Every season hindi puwedeng walang isyu o controversy ang PBB. Sanay na. Wala akong major reaction. Ganoon talaga," she said.
But according to Toni, she would probably have reacted differently if it was her sister Alex Gonzaga that was asked to do the task. If anything though, the PBB host said she was confident that her younger sister would not accept the task.
In the June 4 episode of the show, Jayme initially agreed to do the challenge together with other housemates Daniel Matsunaga, Michelle Gumabao, and Ranty Portento. In the end though, her values and principles as a Christian eventually took over her which prompted her to turn down the task.
