Carmina Villaroel says she and Zoren Legaspi are now taking steps to clarify the tax evasion issue with the BIR.
After Zoren Legaspi was hit with a P4.45 million tax evasion charge by the BIR for supposedly failing to properly file his income tax for taxable years 2010 and 2012, Carmina Villaroel said her husband always has her full support. “Ako
I don’t have to say anything because he knows. I know him eh
. I didn’t ask any questions because I trust him and alam namin yung
situation. For a while medyo nalito kami, naguluhan kami
but now malinaw na sa amin ang lahat
and we’re very thankful dahil nandiyan yung mga pamilya namin para suportahan kami.
It’s not a big deal actually. Kumbaga
we know the truth and if ever man, somewhere along the way may nangyaring hindi tama
or we really don’t know eh
but as we said, Zoren and I, we’re very responsible and it’s our responsibility to pay our taxes and we do pay our taxes. Hanggang doon na lang, basta
we’re all okay and I’m very thankful dahil marami naming sumusuporta,
” she said during their launch as the new family endorser of Jolly Spaghetti held last May 15 at the Fairmont hotel in Makati city.
After being discovered by Mother Lily in a Jollibee commercial over 20 years ago, Carmina said she is happy to be part of the popular fast food chain’s endorsers along with her husband and twins Mavy and Cassy. Apart from shooting a new commercial, the Legaspis already have a couple of other endorsements with major brands which Carmina wanted to downplay. “We don’t count eh but we’re very, very thankful and very blessed kasi kahit nagtratrabaho kami together and tinitingnan namin as a family bonding ito. Mavy’s still my baby boy and she’s still my baby girl. Forever na yan, kahit matanda na ako at matanda na sila. They will always be my babies,” she admitted.
The 38-year-old mom said her kids trust them to handle their finances now that they are earning from being models. “They both know naman kung saan naman napupunta yung kinikita nila. We tell them. Ang importante naman you communicate to your kids and be honest with them kung saan napupunta yung ganito, saan napupunta yung ganyan. At saka they’re very good kids, maybe because we tell them right away, alam naman nila na kung ano yung sa kanila, sa kanila,” she explained.
Even though Mavy and Cassy have been more visible to the media, Carmina was quick to dismiss that this means they are entering showbiz soon. She said the reason is because the twins have more free time because of summer break. “I’m very supportive naman eh. Kasi before talagang very vocal sila so sabi ko huwag muna, kasi pag-aaral muna but you know if the perfect time comes along like finished na yung college and all that then that’s fine. Kasi kami ni Zoren pareho kaming mga artista and maganda naman naidulot sa amin ang pag-aartista so it’s okay. Kasi matagal pa siguro kasi mag-ka-college pa eh so ayun enjoy lang. Medyo pag tapos na sila ng college nenerbiyusin na ako (laughs),” she said.
After recently saying goodbye to hosting Buzz ng Bayan, Carmina admitted she is gearing up for another exciting project in the Kapamilya network. “Sa ngayon I think they told me that end of May or early part of June I’ll be starting on a new teleserye. I’m just waiting. Once in a while I do guest sa Kris TV so I enjoy being with my ninang. Sa morning madaldal naman talaga ako obviously ‘di ba? (laughs) So I enjoy co-hosting with my ninang. I’m just thankful and grateful kasi dumating yung ganitong sitwasyon ng buhay ko na summer so I get to spend time with my kids. I’m sure na pag nagsimula na yung pasukan that’s the time na magsisimula na rin yung teleserye so at least we have more time with each other,” she shared.
