Isabelle Daza doesn't want to be a beauty queen: ‘I don't see myself joining a competition’

051514-isabel_main.jpgAfter joining the Avon family as one of its newest celebrity endorsers, model-host Isabelle Daza admitted she has yet to think of following in the path of her mom Gloria Diaz who was the first Filipina to win the Miss Universe pageant. “That's a good question. Thank you for that wonderful question (laughs). Think I'm happy where my life is right now. I'm hosting shows so I'm very contented and I don't feel the need na kailangan ko pang sumali ng beauty pageants. Ang daming magaganda diyan my gosh,” she said.

Despite her pedigreed lineage, Belle said her mom just wants her to follow her heart. “Hindi naman, I really don't feel any pressure from her or from anyone. It's just my own thing. I don't see myself joining a competition to say I'm the most beautiful, ‘di ba? Kasi there's so many beautiful women out there who are much more deserving I think. I think I was approached a few times, yeah. Alam mo naman Filipinos we love our beauty pageants,” she said.

After her last movie with Star Cinema as John Lloyd Cruz's girlfriend in It Takes a Man and a Woman last year, Belle said she is working again on two new movie projects in two of the country's top networks. “I'm doing a new movie with miss Iza Calzado and Matteo Guidicelli and a lot of other actors. It’s by direk Joey Reyes. This is coming out I think in July and then I'm doing another film with direk Erik Matti and Dingdong Dantes. We're about to start pa lang, parang may workshop factor pa eh. It's very intense and meticulous so I'm excited. I can't talk about the role yet siyempre. Pag medyo may trailers na you will see kasi if I tell it will ruin it. Action siya na thriller so I'm excited to do that kasi hindi pa ako nakaka-action film and I'm very sporty. I'm excited working with direk Erik Matti, he's a really good director and of course si Dingdong na nakasama ko na sa Genesis before. I'm doing three movies this year,” she said.

Belle said she is honored to be offered good projects so early in her showbiz career. “I don't know. I'm happy to be a part of quality projects I guess. I think it goes both ways. I think you just can't accept everything that comes your way and you have to kind of be more picky when it comes to that,” the Avon Intimates endorser explained.

Aside from numerous endorsements, Belle said she also wants to concentrate on acting and work with good actresses. “I think Iza is so good. I think she's such a great actress that I just watch her and I really think she's one of the greater actresses of our generation. On another project naman it was my first time to work with Maricel Soriano so I had to be on my toes. Napakagaling niya na aktres,” she recalled.

When it comes to her personal life, Belle said she is in no hurry to walk down the aisle with her foreigner boyfriend who is a businessman. “I'm still young. Wala naman (target age). Because I'm only 26, I am young,” she said.
