As the mother of 13-year-old twins, Carmina Villaroel admitted they can be a handful but she still feels blessed that Mavy and Cassy are very good children. “I'm very lucky kasi mahilig talaga sila mag-aral. Pag walang pasok like pag may bagyo, may strike o sick day or whatever, nagagalit sila kasi gusto nila pumasok sa school. So I'm very lucky, very blessed talaga. And pag nag-aaway sila, on fairness to my kids, hindi sila nagsusumbong. They don't fight, actually they argue. Minsan maririnig mo na lang, 'Ay Mavy kasi eh!' or 'Kasi naman Cassy eh!' Yung mga ganun. Small things na ganyan so ako I just listen and then hindi ako nakikialam kasi it's their argument, ayokong makialam. So pag kailangan na lang nila yung tulong ko that's the time na makikialam ako. Pero so far wala pa. Kung may maririnig ako, I'll just ask them what happened ba, and then they'll tell me and then from there titingnan ko kung sino yung may kasalanan or kung sino yung walang kasalanan and then pag-uusapan lang namin. Kung kinakailangan pagalitan or pagsabihan yung isa sa kanila, I will do that,” she said.
Apart from their studies, the twins are also into many outdoor activities and sports thanks mostly to their dad Zoren Legaspi. “Kasi siguro at an early age, in-expose na namin sila sa sports thanks to Zoren. Nag-te-tennis sila when they were younger, yung ganyan tapos nag-ba-bike sila. Hanggang sa ngayon nag-ba-bike kami around the village tapos kasi we also have dogs so ini-exercise namin, linalakad namin yung mga dogs at saka importante atn a very young age to expose them to sports and sa exercise so hindi ko na sila kailangan i-remind or kailangan i-push kasi alam na nila na yung exercise. Cassy uses the treadmill like me. Siguro kasi para maganda we have to set a good example to them. Kung ano yung nakikita nila sa amin ni Zoren nagagaya na nila. Parang practice what you preach,” she shared.
Although they started doing commercials and print ads at an early age, Carmina said this does not mean her kids will follow in her footsteps when it comes to entering showbiz. “Hindi, hindi talaga puwede pag nag-aaral eh. Pag summer puwede sige pagbigyan, pero hindi talaga siya dapat maging career because they're still young. I want them to enjoy life. Importante talaga sa akin ang pag-aaral eh. So kung summer at may show na available na pang-summer lang, why not para lang ma-try nila. Pero pag may pasok na ulit tigil na ulit,” the Ascof Lagundi endorser said.
It is also too early for the two young teens to think about romance according to their doting mom. “Ay wala pa, wala pa. Parang wala pa. They're still my babies. Babies pa rin sila kahit teens na sila, 13 na sila. Isip bata pa sila. Oh, oh my God, siguro like pag 35 na sila? (laughs) I don't know. Ayoko munang isipin yan, them having a serious commitment, a serious relationship. Oh my gosh, they're still young, ayoko munang isipin yun. Pinag-uusapan pa lang natin na-te-tense na ako (laughs). Siguro yung pagpasok sa showbiz pag naka-graduate na sila ng college. They're 13 now so malay pa, may five years in high school tapos four years in college tapos puwede ang may mag-doctor so mas matagal di ba? So after college (laughs),” she said.
In a few years, Carmina said she will have to face the inevitable when her kids start getting interested in dating. “I have to be ready, wala akong choice. Nanggaling ako dun eh. Hindi lang choosy, super guwardiyadong naku, my god (laughs). Hindi naman choosy pero kikilalanin ng maigi kasi siyempre yung mga anak ko, nanay nila ako pero magkaiba kami, friends kami. So ayokong magtatago sila sa akin,” she admitted.
