Jeron Teng speaks up why he did not court Jessy Mendiola.
Despite being hailed as the MVP of last year’s UAAP season, Jeron Teng remarked that he feels no pressure as he is about to play again for the De La Salle Green Archers. “Walang
every time naman ‘yung
MVP bonus na lang. Siyempre
as a player the goal is to win every championship,” he said.
Jeron relayed that his team is already gearing up for the upcoming collegiate basketball season. “Yeah we’ve been practicing every day.” He shared that he would be focused on basketball and that he might not commit to any TV shows at the moment. “UAAP is coming so wala [munang TV shows] nandon lang sa basketball ‘yung focus and of course more time with basketball. For now I’m just going to do basketball.”
On what team he thinks will be La Salle’s biggest competitor this upcoming UAAP season, Jeron commented, “We don’t have a clue yet kasi wala pa eh kasi the season has not started yet.”
Even if his brother is now in PBA, Jeron relayed that they do still make an effort to practice basketball together. “Well ‘yung brother ko kasi siyempre I don’t have a brother anymore to play against with [in UAAP] so he can tell me what to improve on at the same time I can also help him in the PBA. We help each other,” he said.
All is going well for Jeron’s basketball career. When asked about his personal life, he relayed that he is not in a relationship at the moment. “I’m single,” he confirmed. Jeron and his brother were once linked to Kapamilya actress Jessy Mendiola. The De La Salle Green Archers player admitted though that he did not court the actress. “Mahirap i-pursue eh kasi siyempre maraming factors, ‘yun,” Jeron briefly stated.
The Teng brothers made headlines when they admitted their admiration for Jessy in several interviews. In an interview though, Jeron shared that he is willing to make sacrifices for his kuya. “We are just happy that Jessy is so nice to us… Siyempre, kuya first,” he said.
