Carmina Villaroel says she has never been more in love with husband Zoren Legaspi.
Apart from being a popular host and actress, Carmina Villaroel can also boast of having a successful family life with husband Zoren (with whom she tied the knot in 2012 in a surprise ceremony after 14 years of being together) and their twins Mavy and Cassy.
The Buzz ng Bayan host shared that she and her hubby aren't a conventional couple in the sense that they don't have any scheduled date nights. “Kasi sa amin it doesn't work yung mga date nights eh. Kasi ‘pag magkasama kami or lumalabas kami na wala yung kids, yung isip namin nasa mga bata. So ang ginagawa namin, hindi na namin kailangan lumabas. Nasa bahay lang kami and then we just talk. It's like dating kasi yun naman ang purpose kaya kayo lumalabas para makapag-usap kayong dalawa. So sa bahay namin ginagawa para alam lang namin na yung mga bata nasa kuwarto, safe sila, okay kami,” she admitted.
With a picture perfect family, Carmina said there is also a responsibility to be a good example and inspiration to other Filipinos to lead their lives the same way. “Meron siyempre pressure pag laging sinasabi na perfect family, ideal family, kayo yung talagang tinitingalaan bilang isang pamilya. And at the same time siyempre nakaka-proud bilang isang magulang. We're very happy. I'm very blessed because ganun ang tingin sa family mo. Siguro naman it's not really pressure, more because ito talaga kami, what you see is what you get, wala kaming pretentions, wala kaming yung ‘let's pretend to be happy’ or ‘let’s pretend to be close ha.’ Natural yan eh kaya you guys can see siguro kahit naman sa taping or in person na ganun talaga kami,” she said.
When it comes to marriage, Carmina revealed the most important things that keep her bond with Zoren as solid as ever. “Number one is constant communication. Yun lang naman importante in any relationship, whether mag girlfriend-boyfriend, whether friendship or mag-sisters, it's important to have open communication,” she said.
The 38-year-old host said women should also keep themselves looking and feeling youthful no matter which point in their lives they already are in as well. She admitted she and Zoren are constantly in a courting stage of their relationship. “Siguro importante din yung parang palagi kayong nanilligaw, yung palaging nasa ligawan stage, yung parang mag girlfriend-boyfriend, yung ganun. Kasi yun yung hindi nawala sa amin ni Zoren, we text each other mga sweet nothings, yung parang magpanggap kami na nag-de-date pa rin. Important din na maging happy ka para lumalabas yung inner glow, yung inner happiness. Importante na may peace of mind talaga and drink lots of water and exercise,” she shared.
Lastly, Carmina said that having the same faith was vital in keeping the marriage steady and strong. “Importante naman just to put God in the center of your relationship and then ‘pag malakas naman yung kapit mo sa God natin, kumbaga kahit anong problema ang dumating, kaya ninyo harapin dalawa,” she said.
