Chito Miranda belies the rumors that he already tied the knot with Neri Naig.
Chito Miranda clarified the ongoing rumors that he is already married to girlfriend Neri Naig. The rumors started circulating when Chito called Neri “asawa” on his social media account. The Parokya Ni Edgar vocalist who was present during the MYX Music Awards 2014 underscored that they haven’t tied the knot yet and that netizens just made a big deal out of his social media post.
“I think it's normal naman for couples na tawag mo sa girlfriend mo asawa mo so they just made a big deal out of it I guess because it's social media and a lot of followers siguro nagulat lang pero I think it's normal kasi kahit nong high school kami tawag naming sa girlfriend naming, ‘Uy misis mo’ ganon because it's a normal thing for us. If people took it seriously ayos lang,” he stated during an interview with Push.com.ph and Cinema News
But he stressed that he is hoping to marry Neri sooner or later. “Hopefully, we all dream about it, we all hope naman na if we're in a relationship ‘yun na ang totoo na talaga eh.” Does he have plans to settle down anytime soon? “Secret ko pa lang ‘yun, nasa ulo ko pa lang,” he said.
Chito and Neri were embroiled in a scandal after their sex video appeared online last year. The vocalist admitted that when the scandal broke, he was more concerned for Neri than for himself. “Ever since, I was more concerned about Neri more than anything. But as for the band, day one pa lang pinagtatatawanan na nila ako eh. Sa music scene they don't care about showbiz issues eh wala silang pakialam so my primary concern was Neri and because siya ‘yung babae you have to be strong. Pero when it comes to my work and my band mates wala silang pakialam, up to now joke na lang ‘yun para sa kanila,” he relayed.
On their bashers, Chito shared that they choose to ignore them. “We don't deal with them that way. It’s better to ignore. Kasi life is more peaceful pag hindi mo na pansinin ang mga ganon eh. Ever since naman we started lahat na ng intriga, so were used to it and Neri she's a very strong girl and we were there for each other.”
Amid the controversy, the couple remained strong through the support of their families and friends. “We are really thankful kasi di namin magagawa ‘yun without the support of the people eh. We saw who our real friends were, we saw the support of our family more than we were expecting. Alam namin na mahal nila kami but through trials you will see who your real friends are and you will see the importance of family,” he remarked.
