Makisig Morales is excited to work with showbiz crush Julia Barretto

<div><img src='' alt='032714-makisig_main.jpg' height='290' align='left' border='0' width='400'>After joining showbiz as a contestant of <i>Little Big Star</i> in 2005 and eventually starring in <i>Super Inggo</i>, Makisig Morales said he is excited to go back to the small screen after landing a role in the new drama series <i>Mirabella</i> which started airing last March 24, Monday.</div><div><br/></div><div>Makisig's character as a young boy will be portrayed by his younger brother Maliksi in the first few episodes of the show. “Actually<i> nagulat ako </i>and <i>sobrang </i>flattered<i> kasi parang</i> finally <i>maakatrabaho ko na si</i> Julia (Barretto),<i> masaya ako kasi alam ko magiging maganda kalalabasan ng</i> show<i> na ito</i>. <i>Si </i>Maliksi <i>yung gumanap na ako nung bata pa ako, parang binu</i>-bully bully<i> namin si </i>Julia Baretto. <i>Yung</i> best friend <i>ni</i> Julia, <i>yun yung naging </i>crush<i> ko simula pagkabata, siya yung magiging</i> love interest, <i>yun magiging </i>girlfriend<i> ko,”</i> he shared.</div><div><br/></div><div>Makisig said he is lucky with his co-stars like Julia Barretto and Diego Loyzaga whom he has become good friends with. “Actually <i>mababait sila talaga, walang problema lalo na pag nasa</i> set. <i>Parang talagang laro lang, halos hindi siya trabaho. Pero pag talagang</i> work, work<i> talaga. Hindi puwedeng hindi seryosohin,”</i> he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>Makisig, who is currently a college freshman taking up Business Administration, shared that when he is not acting on-cam, he is busy portraying the role of Filipino saint Pedro Calungsod in a play which has been running for about eight months. “Busy <i>ako ngayon sa</i> school, <i>sa teatro kay </i>Pedro Calungsod, mission <i>siya ng</i> Couples for Christ <i>at umikot na siya sa</i> Australia, Dubai and last weekend of March<i> nasa</i> Meralco Theater<i> naman kami. Marami na rin akong naikutang</i> schools, <i>siguro pang</i>-28 <i>na</i> show<i> na namin.</i> Actually<i> sa lahat ng </i>play<i> namin halos lahat</i> standing ovation <i>kaya talagang nakakatuwa. Hindi rin naman kami nag-a-</i>acting <i>lang dun, parang pumapasok talaga sa akin yung buhay, nakakalmutan mo lahat eh, parang iniisip mo na nandun talaga kayo. Talagang may naiiyak, ang dami na-ta-</i>touch,” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>The 17-year-old admitted he only had a limited time to prepare for the role, but it helped that he has always been a singer. “<i>Mga</i> three months <i>kami nag</i>-rehearse<i> kasi nga gahol sa time kasi </i>canonization <i>ni </i>Pedro Calungsod.  <i>Sinabay namin yung</i> play. Musical play it <i>kaya kumakanta ako. Puro kanta siya </i>halos,<i> konting </i>lines<i> tapos</i> song <i>na naman,” </i>he added.</div><div><div>The young actor said that he had to adjust a little when he started doing theater because of the challenge of being in front of a live audience. <i>“Ibang iba talaga kasi di tulad sa mga</i> taping<i> na may mga </i>cut <i>yung eksena pero ang </i>play <i>wala talagang</i> cut <i>yan, hindi mo puwede sabihin na, 'Puwede direk ulitin natin?' walang ganyan</i>. The show must go on<i> kahit mabulol ka</i> or <i>magkamali ka. Kailangan mabawi yun</i>,” he shared.</div><div><br/></div><div>Mak also admitted he did not have an understudy which meant he had to take good care of his health and vocal chords. <i>“Bawal magkasakit pero sa awa ng Diyos hindi naman ako nagkasakit </i>(laughs),” he recalled.</div><div><br/></div><div>He said he also tries to give brotherly advice to his two other siblings that are also in showbiz. <i>“Si</i> Marikit <i>nag-Wansapanataym nung kamakailan lang, nung</i> episode<i> nila </i>Nash Aguas. <i>Si</i> Maliksi <i>naman nag</i>-MMK. <i>Nakakatuwa kasi magkakasama kami sa iisang</i> industry. <i>Tinuturuan namin sila kumanta kasi yun yung talent na du kami namulat eh, yung pagkanta eh bago kami naging</i> actor<i> at saka kailangan </i>balance<i>. Kailangan meron kang</i> time <i>para sa </i>studies,” he said.</div><div> </div><div>At this point in his life, Makisig said he is not yet ready for a girlfriend although he has always had a crush on his former co-star Kahryn Bernardo. “<i>Wala pa naman, </i>crush crush (laughs).<i> Marami akong</i> crush <i>sa </i>showbiz <i>sa totoo lang, hindi naman nawala si</i> Kath eh, ever since dating<i> dati pa, Super Inggo</i> <i>pa. Dun ko pa siya na-</i>meet <i>sa</i> auditions, <i>maliit pa ako.  Ngayon pati si </i>Liza Soberano <i>at</i> Julia Barretto.<i> Paghanga lang naman po. Nakasabay ko</i> once <i>si</i> Liza <i>sa</i> gym,” he said.</div></div><div><br/></div>
