While many expects that Vhong Navarro's girlfriend, Tanya Bautista, would leave him after his recent mauling led by Cedric Lee and following his rendezvous with Deniece Cornejo, she did otherwise and the It's Showtime host couldn't be any grateful.
During his first ever interview after his attack two weeks ago, Vhong immediately claims that his sole mistake in the entire incident was that he became unfaithful to his girlfriend of six years. Despite this, reports have noted that Tanya has chosen to stay by his side and even take good care of him as he heals from what he's gone through.
Kaya dapat maging faithful talaga," he said during his interview with Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday.
Vhong lauded how Tanya has opted to set aside her own feelings just to support him in his current ordeal.
According to him that very selflessness shown by Tanya is what inspired him to admit his fault because "totoo naman eh na nagkasala ako sakanya."
But what if Tanya has decided otherwise and left him after learning of his infidelity, would he have understood her?
"Opo.
Ironically he shared that his current controversy actually strengthened his relationship with her girlfriend, whom he met on the set of his 2008 film My Only U opposite Toni Gonzaga.
"Masaya kami ngayon eh. Iba, iba ngayon ang saya namin. Parang mas lumalim," he described and added, "Mas ngayon naiisip niya na mahal parin niya ako kahit sa nagawa kong ito sakanya."
However, Vhong shared that he recently asked Tanya if he still loves her "Kaya lang nung tinanong ko siya hindi niya pa masabi at naiintindihan ko po'yun."
Knowing the extent of the hurt that he has caused not only Tanya but her family as well, he shared that "kinausap ko rin 'yung mommy niya at mga kapatid niya, humingi rin po ako ng tawad sakanila. Parang second chance."
Given Tanya's obvious devotion to their relationship, does he see himself marrying her anytime soon?
"Kasi ayaw ko namang pag-usapan ngayon 'yun eh kasi parang... Baka dahil doon po kaya kami magpapakasal. Gusto ko po 'yung ready po kami," the host-comedian said.
Prior to Tanya, Vhong was previously married to actress Bianca Lapus with whom he had a 15-year-old son named Isaiah until their marriage was annulled in 2008.
Amid accepting him, Vhong remains apologetic to Tanya.
