Kim Chiu defends Xian Lim: 'Sana huwag muna sila humusga kaagad'
020514-kim_Main.jpgAfter a recent live guesting on “Banana Nite’s” Chinese New Year episode where he reportedly snubbed Kim Chiu’s impersonator onstage during a song number, Xian Lim continued to earn flak for his reportedly rude behavior. Kim Chiu took the opportunity to defend her ka-love team against bashers. Ang nakita lang nila yung sa TV so sana tama na yung hate words,” she says during her launch as GSK’s newest celebrity ambassador for their Win Against Asthma campaign held today at the Makati Shangri-la.

According to Kim, the incident has greatly affected Xian and she has been trying her best to make him feel better about the situation. Ayaw niya, sobra siyang na-down kasi ang daming bashers sa Instagram,” she shares.

The “Ikaw Lamang” actress says she would have probably reacted the same way if she was put in a similar situation. Kim admits she did not perceive Xian as being intentionally rude to her lookalike and said he would probably have reacted better if he had been given a heads up by the production staff of the show. As in, hindi sinabi sa kanya ng ‘Banana Split’ kung ano yung blocking niya, hindi rin sinabi sa kanya na may lalabas na ganun so kumakanta siya, kinakabahan siya dahil mag-isa, paglingon niya, ‘Ay sino ‘to?’ Parang saan nanggaling ito? Parang ganun. Eh siyempre gag show, hindi niya siguro nasakyan.

Another reason which sparked the ire of netizens was that Xian kept referring to GMA artist Bea Benene while onstage despite the fact that the Showtime Kalokalike was obviously impersonating Kim Chiu. First time niya yatang batikusin ng bonggang bongga. Parang hindi naman bastos kasi magkamukha kasi, actually magkakamukha kaming tatlo (referring to GMA artist Bea Benene and her Shotime Kalokalike Charmae Viking) hindi naman masama yun 'di ba?” she adds.

Even after his apology through Twitter a few hours after the incident, Xian is still feeling the backlash of the supposed snub. Kim now admits it has been a challenge to get him to smile.

The 23-year-old actress says she has never known Xian to be anything but a gentleman and hopes the issue will just die down on its own. Sobra siyang down na down, nakakaawa,” she admits.
