Kim Chiu thanks her late mother for Bride for Rent's box office success
020413-Kim_Main.jpgBride for Rent has already reached the P300 million mark. During their thanksgiving party held last January 30 at the ABS-CBN compound, Kim Chiu confessed to being very surprised about the box office turnout of the film, which at that time only amounted to P280 million.

My gosh ano kayang ginawa kong kalokohan at natatawa sila sa akin," she blurted.

The Ikaw Lamang star also tearfully noted how incredulous it was to her that the film raked in millions when "puro kalokohan lang ‘yung ginawa namin doon nakakatawa pero nakakaiyak sa saya."

Halfway through her speech, Kim turned emotional when she thanked her late mother who succumbed to brain aneurysm June last year.

"Thank you kay Papa God, thank you so much and of course sa Mama ko kung nasaan man siya ngayon, thank you so much. So thank you, thank you Mama," she said in between tears.

After Bride for Rent, fans of Xian Lim and Kim, collectively known as KimXi, still has something to look forward to as ABS-CBN executive Malou Santos shared during the party that the successful onscreen tandem will start shooting their third film together by the third quarter of the year.

"Siyempre masaya kasi hindi namin alam eh. So sobrang masaya and thankful kami na binigyan kami ng kasunod. Mga KimXi fans abangan nila ‘yon," Kim told their fans.

While Bride for Rent is still showing in theaters nationwide and some areas in the US and Canada, Kim's fans can expect to see her back on primetime soon enough through her upcoming soap Ikaw Lamang together with Coco Martin, Jake Cuenca, and Julia Montes.
