After seeing Starting Over Again again, actress Iza Calzado surmises that she has discovered the secret as to how a woman can handle seeing her past flame anew.
Speaking on the Sunday episode of Buzz ng Bayan, Iza gamely answered questions about a recent photo posted by her manager Noel Ferrer featuring her with two other men: her ex-boyfriend, Atticus King and her current boyfriend, Ben Wintle.
The photo’s caption read: “Letting go, moving on, getting better... (Not REEL but REAL) STARTING OVER AGAIN: @missizacalzado @benmwintle @atticusking #whatanight”
Iza proudly shared that running into her exes was never “uncomfortable” for her.
“Hindi kami uncomfortable kasi friends kaming lahat. Actually that was the night that we had our block screening wherein I actually invited Atz with the permission of Ben. Because Atz and I are still friends. I’m friends with all of my exes. So hindi talaga siya uncomfortable,” said The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition host.
She continued, “Sabi ko nga nung pinanood ko ang pelikula ‘Ah siguro ang sikreto dito parang ako, kaibiganin mo lahat ng ex mo para ‘pag nag-krus ang landas niyo walang meaning.’”
The 31-year-old actress takes pride over the fact that Atticus and Ben are okay with each other.
“Yes they’re not the best of friends of course but they’re civil, they’re good. They talk about fitness. They talk about things. Mamaya nakita ko nalang na nagchi-chikahan tapos makikita ko then tatawa nalang ako bigla ‘ay ang ganda namang tignan niyan’ at least diba walang issues,” she related.
Meanwhile, still on the same episode of the show, host Janice de Belen shared that the film which starred Iza as well as Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga, has already earned P300million after 12 days of being out in the cinemas.
According to Iza she never imagined that the film would be a blockbuster hit.
“Hindi talaga. Hindi ko talaga ma-imagine. Actually kasi nung ginagawa namin, parang may role is not really lengthy but nagulat ako kasi ‘yung talagang inaalagaan ni Inang ‘yung character ko. At natuwa rin ako dahil nung pinananood naming ‘yung pelikula ang ganda nung balanse ng pelikula so siyempre proud ka to be part of that film and then nakakatuwa lalo na mainit ‘yung pagtanggap ng ating manonood,” she said of the film which was directed by Olivia “Inang” Lamasan.
While many are lauding how she attacked her role as Patty on the film, Iza gave credit to their director whom she claims “she really knows how to bring out something in me na hindi pa nakikita ng ibang tao at a perfect point in time.”
