After being reunited with Milan co-star Piolo Pascual and director Olivia Lamasan, Iza Calzado said she is lucky to be chosen to be part of Star Cinema’s Starting Over Again. The talented actress credited her success not to any one network, but to the blessings she has received through quality projects and opportunities.
Basta ang masasabi ko lang ngayon is I’m even more grateful to be given another opportunity to work with Inang Olive Lamasan because she really brings out the best reactions from me in whatever manner she can think of at a certain point in time. She will think of it tapos talagang ilalabas niya at makikita din naman ng mga tao,” she shared.
With her life story recently featured on Maalaala Mo Kaya, Iza admitted it was a nice surprise to find out she got the part of Piolo Pascual’s girlfriend in Starting Over Again. “How can you refuse Tita Olive Lamasan? It’s been ten years since I last worked with Inang. My first show actually in ABS-CBN was Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako tapos yung huli namin ni Clau (Barretto). And also I didn’t want to miss the chance, I’ve been wanting to work with Toni (Gonzaga). I think it’s the right time and the right material. Parang hindi ko palalagpasin yung ganitong klaseng storya,” she admitted.
The 31-year-old actress also couldn’t help but share that she once had feelings for the Kapamilya heartthrob who played her estranged husband in Milan in 2004. “I’m also very happy that I got another chance to work with my original crush Mr. Piolo Pascual and ako, hindi ito halong plastic or bola, I am really a fan of Toni Gonzaga because she’s so funny. I’m really grateful to be part of this film,” she said.
Iza admitted she felt separation anxiety after shooting ended.
