In a rare moment, John Lloyd Cruz opened up that he wants “dream wedding” someday. In fact in an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph recently, the Home Sweetie Home actor even confessed that he’s not completely dismissing the idea that he might end up marrying someone on the spot like what his character Romeo did with Toni Gonzaga’s character Julie in their top-rating sitcom.
“Oo kasi siguro dahil deep down inside I’m still a hopeless romantic pero sa reality parang halimbawa ako, alam ko ang reality ko, pwedeng mangyari ‘yon pero hindi ko rin sinasara, ayaw ko lang rin magsalita ng tapos kasi mamaya kainin ko ‘yun,” he said with a smile.
If it were up to him though, he would like his very own wedding to be something that’s well thought of. “Pwede siyang mangyari pero ideally gusto mong ibigay ‘yung sa babae ‘yung importanteng importante, ‘yung dream wedding. And ako naman din bilang lalaki, ito personally ah, importante rin sa akin ang dream wedding,” John Lloyd added. Because? “Wala kasi feeling ko girl ako,” he joked.
On a serious note, the top Kapamilya star explained that “Pakiramdam ko gusto ko lang i-break ‘yung hindi lang siya importante sa babae, importante rin siya sa lalaki.”
The actor, who is usually coy when it comes to the topic of settling down, then continued that he is willing to go through the rigorous preparations because “gusto ko ring ibigay doon sa babae, sa asawa ko kaya siya siguro naging importante sa akin.”
Having mentioned settling down, John Lloyd further opened up about how he envisions his married life would be and how he wants it to be anything like Romeo’s. While he believes that being in an extended family can be fun at times, John Lloyd said he would rather start his own family independently in the future.
“Siyempre kahit naman sinong bagong nagsisimulang couple tingin ko ideally gusto nila nakabukod kasi it’s also one way of experiencing growth as a couple. Independent of your respective families,” he started.
However, he recognizes the fact that due to the difficult situation in the country, many newly-married and young couples resort to living with their parents. “Siguro dahil sa ganon, tumagal na tumagal na ganon tayo kumbaga naging tanggap na siya sa society natin, na okay lang ‘yun. Na okay lang din naman talaga because after all pamilya kayo and sino pa ba ang magsusuportahan ‘di ba?” the 30-year-old actor said.
John Lloyd is currently in a relationship with actress-comedienne Angelica Panganiban. While he doesn’t have any “target age” as to when he wants to tie the knot, he said that they haven’t talked about the subject yet. In past interviews, he has said that “When it happens, it happens.”
