Kim Chiu denies breakup of her love team with Xian Lim
022014-kim_mainphoto.jpgWith P300M earned at the box office for Bride for Rent, Kim Chiu said she is happy about the start of her Chinese New Year. “Natutuwa ako kasi lahat ng ginagawa naming… I’m so happy and sobrang thankful na abot langit na yung pasasalamat ko dahil yung suporta ng mga tao. May mga nag-ti-tweet sa akin from Canada, US, ang dami-daming lugar sobrang nakakatuwa, yung mga pila pini-picture-an nila parang dito sa Manila so I’m very, very as in sagad hanggang langit yung pasasalamat ko,” she said.

Although she is set to be paired with Coco Martin in her upcoming Kapamilya series Ikaw Lamang, Kim said it was not her personal decision to work separately from Xian Lim in the new project. “Yun din ang hindi ko maintindihan eh pero wala, sumusunod lang kami as workers ng ABS-CBN, sila ang nag-desisyon nun,” she shared.

Kim said that fans shouldn’t automatically assume that this means the end of the KimXi love team. “Hindi naman siya bubuwagin kasi may movie kami ng third quarter ni Xian so sana suportahan ulit siya ng mga tao. Yung sa TV it’s a management decision and siyempre wala naman kaming magagawa dun and isang project lang and then after that we’re going to have a teleserye together. Nalungkot din naman kami in a way pero siyempre ito yung binigay sa amin and hindi naman kami makakapili kung ano talaga and masaya kami na yung ibang KimXi masaya sila, parang natanggap na din nila kasi aantayin na lang nila yung movie namin ni Xian,” she added.

The talented actress also addressed the issue that she was the more popular one in the love team. “Hindi naman, kaya naman ni Xian yun. Siyempre iba rin yung talent na nabibigay ni Xian, iba yung humor niya and napakagaling niyang artista and napakadami naming supporters na nagsasabi na hindi nila kami pabababyaan, nandiyan lang sila kahit magkaiba yung project namin and masaya kami na naririnig namin yun,” she explained.

For Ikaw Lamang, Kim admitted she is both excited and nervous to start working with Coco Martin, Julia Montes, Jake Cuenca, Cherie Gil, Ronaldo Valdez, Cherie Pie Picache, Angel Aquino, John Estrada, Tirso Cruz III, and Meryll Soriano. “Siyempre sa lahat ng project dun ka kakabahan, siyempre siguro mayabang na mayabang ka na kung okay lang sa yo. Siyempre kakabahan ka rin kasi ito bagong team-up and lahat ng artista dito may award. Buti na lang nakasungkit ako ng isa (laughs) kung hindi left out ako, wala akong award,” she admitted.
