Coco Martin says he doesn't have any social media accounts

In a recent interview during the pocket press conference of his upcoming family drama film<i> Padre de Familia</i>, Coco underscored that being socially active online is something that is <i>“hindi siya</i> applicable <i>sa</i> personal<i> kong buhay</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>But he’s not completely averse about the idea of other stars getting personal with random fans online. <i>“Hindi ako against </i>[social media] <i>kasi sabi ko nakakatuwa nga eh. Siyempre kanya-kanyang</i> [idea <i>‘yan eh] kasi nakakapag</i>-promote<i> ka</i>… Okay <i>‘yun eh maganda ang naitutulong no’n sa mga artista.</i>”</div><div><br/></div><div>Personally though, Coco would rather keep his life private, especially when he’s at home which is where he spends time a lot whenever he’s not working. “<i>Kumbaga kunwari nasa bahay ako, nilalaan ko ‘yung</i> time<i> na ‘yun para sa</i> family<i> ko, sa sarili ko, ibo-</i>broadcast<i> ko pa ba sa lahat ng mga tao eh. Personalidad ko na kasi talaga ‘yun eh</i>,” said the <i>Ikaw Lamang</i> actor.</div><div><br/></div><div>With that, he denied that he’s the person maintaining the Instagram account “yourcocomartin” which now has 109,872 followers and counting. According to him, he doesn’t also maintain a “secret account” and that his phone, as boring as it sounds, is just for receiving and making text messages and calls.</div><div><br/></div><div>The celebrated Prince of the Philippine Independent Films also doesn’t have a Facebook account. He even quipped, “<i>Hindi nga ako marunong gumawa ng </i>Facebook<i> eh.”</i></div><div><br/></div><div>Does he read write-ups or comments about him online? <i>“Hindi rin kasi nga</i> sensitive<i> ako. Kunyari kasi hindi naman lahat ng tao gusto ako eh di ba kapag may nasabi sila sa ‘yo na hindi maganda, sa mga artista kasi ang laking</i> advantage<i> kapag </i>sensitive <i>ka. Siyempre kapag may nagsabi ng di maganda sa ‘yo o hindi nagustuhan ang acting mo masasaktan ka, mag-iiba na’yung diskarte mo,</i>” Coco explained.</div><div><br/></div><div>According to him, such kind of negative feedback could eventually affect the way you approach a character so much so that “Later on <i>nakadepende na ako sa mga nag-co-</i>comment<i> sa akin.”</i></div><div><br/></div><div>While many might misconstrue his reluctance for “instant feedback” as something negative, Coco reasoned that <i>“Kasi sabi ko nga ako ang nagda-</i>drive <i>ng</i> career<i> ko eh kapag sumunod na ako</i> later on, <i>hindi na ako ‘yung</i> driver, passenger<i> na ako.”</i></div><div><br/></div><div>So how does he reach out to his fans? “<i>Gusto ko</i> personal <i>eh. Kung sila</i> text text<i> ako gusto ko ‘yung pinapadala ako ng </i>ABS-CBN<i> halimbawa sa ibang probinsiya tapos magsho</i>-show <i>ako doon. Pero ‘yung para lahat ng iniisip ko sabihin ko sa kanila, ayoko,</i>” he ended.</div><div><br/></div>
