Kim Chiu reveals who she wants to date on Valentine's Day
021214-Kim_Main.jpgAfter the success of her Star Cinema rom-com Bride for Rent, Kim Chiu is busy again working on her newest project, the romantic drama Ikaw Lamang which will pair her with Coco Martin. Kim said that because of this, she is not expecting to have any plans on Valentine’s Day this year. “Naku, hindi ko pa alam. Siyempre February ano pa lang ngayon (laughs). Hindi ko alam Friday ba yun? May taping ata yun,” she admitted.

The 23-year-old actress recently defended her love team partner Xian Lim against bashers who criticized him for allegedly snubbing Kim’s impersonator onstage during a live episode of Banana Nite. Kim admitted to the press that Xian was still very much affected by the backlash. This was also the reason why Kim said no one has asked her out yet for February 14. “Wala pa, malungkot pa kasi siya chos (laughs). May iniinda pa kasi siya,” she said, referring to Xian.

Even though many assume she and Xian are already exclusively dating, Kim still refused to confirm or deny the real status of their close relationship. “Kayo talaga, hindi naman kailangan mag-open up, Masaya naman yung mga tao, ganun. Okay na yun. Balato muna,” she said.

At this point, Kim said she is not expecting for anything anymore for Valentine’s Day. “Ay wala, huwag ka na masyado mangarap para hindi masyado mataas yung expectation mo. Baka mag-expect ka ng something tapos hindi mangyari malungkot ka pa. Chill lang, relax,” she advised.

For Kim, a romantic Valentine’s date is not about spending the most money, but in being sincerely romantic. “Hindi naman yun sa lugar or sa regalo na matatanggap mo. It’s the feeling na ipaparamdam sa iyo ng taong mahal mo. Yun lang yung importante, hindi na dito tayo sa bundok tayong dalawa or dito tayo sa dagat. Siguro sa feelings niyo na lang yun ang importante,” she added.

As one of the newly launched celebrity ambassadors of GSK’s Win Against Asthma campaign along with singer Arnel Pineda, Kim said she is proud to have overcome asthma five years ago. “Matagal na hindi lang halata. Sanay na ako, meron lang akong medication sa bag ko in case kung ano mang mangyari sa akin and may maintenance naman. Siyempre hindi ko pinapakita pero ngayon nung tinanong ako ng GSK if I want to be an advocate of this fight against asthma, siyempre gusto ko maka-inspire ng mga kabataan na katulad ko na in-asthma nung bata pa. Siyempre sayang naman yung life kung indahin nila yung asthma. So magandang advocacy rin ito to inspire people,” she shared.

Kim also shared the precautions she takes to avoid having an asthma attack. “I always do workout at saka swimming kasi yun nakakalakas talaga ng breathing hindi iiksi so yun yung natutunan ko, medication and hindi ko lini-limit yung sarili ko sa mga gusto ko gawin so I think ito yung magandang advocacy para sa may mga may sakit na asthma,” she said.

The Kapamilya teleserye princess admitted she feels blessed in both her personal and professional lives this year. “Siguro I’m just very happy, very thankful and sa lahat ng sumusuporta at nagtitiwala sa akin, salamat. Parang ang the way of giving back ko sa kanila is mapasaya ko sila sa ginagawa ko and to inspire them. Thankful ako kay God, sa mama ko and sa lahat talaga,” she said.
