The said interview led to memes about her spreading online.</div><div><br/></div><div>The 25-year-old actress-model rose to fame long before selfies became a hit by posting excessive amounts of solo photos on now-defunct social media platforms like MySpace and Friendster that led to the birth of many poser accounts that exploited her photos. This as well as many magazine covers (from teens to men’s magazines) paved the way for the Cebuana beauty to penetrate show business in 2010. The sultry actress simultaneously gained popularity for being a mainstay in FHM’s 100 Sexiest Women’s List for years now.</div><div><br/></div><div>The new Kapamilya star is also a motel heiress to her businessman father who is the owner of a chain of motels in Cebu, Davao, and Manila.  Last year, Ellen expressed plans of leaving showbiz for good in order to rejoin her father’s business after years of having a strained relationship with him. However, she quickly backpedaled and claimed that she would juggle being an actress and an employee at the same time.</div><div><br/></div><div>One of the highlights of Ellen’s acting career happened when she took on the lead role in Gil Portes’s indie film Ang Tag-araw ni Twinkle, an entry to the Sineng Pambansa Film Festival of the Film Development Council of the Philippines September last year. The ever-candid star was even quoted in an interview that her role as a rebellious daughter to a retired military man who entered rehab somehow hit close to home as she confessed having used illegal drugs occasionally during her party girl days.</div><div><br/></div><div>In 2011, Ellen gained notoriety for her outspokenness after she quit Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown midway during the season which she participated in with her then ex-boyfriend, businessman Filo Cucueco. After the competition, Ellen became entangled with a Twitter war against the mother-and-daughter tandem of Maria Isabel and Mara Lopez, whom she had a tiff with when she was still a castaway on the show.</div><div><br/></div><div>When she’s not acting or working in their family business, Ellen is busy maintaining her svelte figure by working out. She does various workout routines such as plyometrics, boxing, yoga, and more recently, biking. Ellen also made a steamy workout/boxing video which included no less than Manny Pacquiao as her sparring partner. Ellen is also into juice cleansing, with her making her own juices from scratch and sharing her recipes through her Instagram account.</div><div><br/></div><div>Her Instagram account also allows her followers a peek into her life, which includes spending time at the beach while making acrobatic yoga poses by the shore, more homemade workout videos, diet food and selfies, and snapshots of her whereabouts, her new beau, and friends.</div><div><br/></div><div>Catch more of Ellen on her first project as a Kapamilya in the upcoming soap <i>Moon of Desire </i>together with Meg Imperial, JC de Vera, and Dominic Roque.</div><div><br/></div>
