The Pasion de Amor star says he and model Chanel Olive Thomas are currently working things out.
After coming back from studying a short course in method acting in the famed Lee Strasburg Acting School in New York. “It was really good. Sobrang
thankful ako na nagawa ko yun at sa
Lee Strasburg Theater and Film Institute that accepted me. It was a very big learning experience na for sure hanggang sa katapusan ng
career ko dala dala ko lahat ng natutunan ko dun
. It was amazing. Bitin
but next time I go back there I would like to do a longer course and parang ngayon ko lalo na
school now na
that I got older and especially when you're studying something that I love to do which is acting,” he admits.
During his stay abroad, Jake also got an unexpected blessing in a form of acting recognition for his work on the inependent film “Mulat.” “I won Best Actor for International Film Festival Manhattan so maraming salamat to everyone in Manhattan for awarding me. It's a really special feeling and I really thank New York city for that,” he shares. After his month-long acting workshop, Jake admits he dove straight into work for the upcoming local remake of the Mexican teleserye set for release early next year. “It's a good feeling. Siyempre kakatapos ko lang ng school tapos diretso trabaho ulit kaya sobrang saya. I'm really excited to be working again,” he adds.
Another major piece of news in his life which he shared last month via social media was his unexpected break-up with Fil-Australian model Chanel Olive Thomas. “I went through a rough time for a while pero now we're working things out. We're talking again. But for now we're jumping into any sudden decisions. Right now we're just working things out and I really hope to God it works out for the best kasi Chanel is a really nice girl. I have nothing bad to say. It's just that, being away for a while takes its toll on the relationship. Siyempre showbiz is very new to her so alam mo yun, there's a lot of adjustments to be made,” he explains
The 26-year-old actor says the difference in lifestyles was the root of their problem. “Because schedule pa rin. When I was gone, I was gone for almost two months. Medyo naging mahirap. Of course mahirap especially when you're studying at the same time and then pagbalik ko trabaho agad so yun na lang. Basta for now I don't want to say anymore. This is business na I want to fix kaming dalawa lang. So right now we're in the process of fixing things and we're working things out,” he shares. Jake says he is doing well because he they have been communicating to straighten things out. “My heart is good. Again, we just don't want to jump into sudden conclusions. Hopefully it just works out for the best. Mukha naman okay eh,” he adds.
With his ex-girlfriend being more active in the local modeling scene, Jake says he has always been nothing but proud of Chanel's achievements. “That's good. Sa akin naman, sinusuportahan ko career niya and I'm really happy that she's doing so many things. I wish her all the best,” he says. Even for the holidays, Jake is still hoping they can enjoy it together as well as with his loved ones. “I've been working so basta I get to spend Christmas with my family and I know she's going to be here. Hopefully we'll spend Christmas together and with that being said, masaya na ako if that happens,” he says.
