Lani performed the Mommy Dionisia’s most famous number to date: her version of Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” which she sang on Gandang Gabi Vice last April.
Asked if she would want to share the stage someday with Mommy D, she excitedly blurted, ”Aba bakit hindi, bakit hindi!”
Apparently, her impersonation of Mommy D is something that she has been doing in her various performances for a couple of months now. “Nakakatuwa ‘yung ganon eh. Kasi bawat time na pine-perform ko ‘yon parang pumapatok pa rin eh,” she said.
But Lani added, “Pero sana hindi naman sila na-offend ano. Kay Celine (Dion) walang problema eh, kay Mommy D baka magkaproblema tayo.”
In previous reports, Lani has maintained that she remains grateful for her fans for accepting her despite the fact that she left at the peak of her career. During her comeback concert, Lani didn’t mask her anxiety about being onstage in front of her Kababayans. “Nako mahirap mag-perform sa harap ng mga kababayan mo kasi magagaling tayo eh. Marami sa atin ang mahusay kumanta, mahusay mag-perform,” she claimed.
Lani hoped that the concert-goers that trooped to her show felt all the love and effort that she and her team has put in just to be able to mount it. “Sana talagang nag-enjoy at natuwa sila. Na-feel ko naman na natuwa sila and that they had a wonderful time,” she ended.
Lani’s guests at the concert included Martin Nievera, Arnel Pineda, and Erik Santos.
