Karla Estrada says she would have chosen Lea Salonga as her The Voice coach

110914-karla_main.jpgInstead of wallowing in self-pity over not having any of the four coaches turn for her performance when she auditioned for The Voice of the Philippines Season 2, Daniel Padilla’s mother, Karla Estrada shared that she’s happy that she wasn’t chosen.

It’s so unfair,” she joked during her live appearance on The Buzz on Sunday.

She added, “Huwag na tayong chumika. Hindi ako pababayaan ng Kathniel fans. So siyempre paano nila aayusin 'yun kung sobra ‘yung voting? I accept the first runner up.’”

Karla’s audition on The Voice of the Philippines aired last Saturday where she performed 1992 hit “What's Up” originally sung by 4 Non Blondes.

The singer-actress initially opened up that she auditioned for the show purely because “Ang gusto ko lang ma-experience ko talaga.”

But later on, she confessed that she also hoped to have gotten past the blind auditions because, “Oo naman sana may umikot.

But which coach would she have chosen if, say all the coaches turned for her?

I can sing, yes.

Many fans were shocked to have seen Karla on The Voice’s stage, especially since she has been dubbed as the “Queen Mother” in reference to Daniel, who is called the Teen King. Speaking of her son, Karla coyly shared that she never informed her friends nor her son of her plan to audition for the show, which was taped months back.

Ganon ‘yun eh. Unang-una ayaw niya akong napapahiya,” she explained.
