Jericho Rosales approves of rumored Kathniel casting in ‘Pangako Sa ’Yo’ remake

<div><img src='' alt='110614-jericho_main.jpg' width='400' height='290' align='left' border='0'>Although reports about Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla headlining the upcoming remake of<i> Pangako Sa’Yo</i> remain unconfirmed, the soap’s original star Jericho Rosales approved of the rumored lead choices.</div><div><br/></div><div>“I’m excited. Excited ako for everybody. I’m sure that<i> alam ng </i>ABS<i> na siguro gusto talaga ng </i>fans <i>na may</i> remake especially since <i>ang dami rin talagang</i> fans <i>ni</i> Daniel at Kathryn<i> ‘di ba? </i>So <i>parang</i> perfect combination, <i>parang ganon.</i> Excited ako to watch it,” Jericho said in an interview at the 10th Cinema One Originals Film Festival press conference on November 4.</div><div><br/></div><div>While The Legal Wife actor believes that he is in no position to say who should be part of the cast, he sees Kathniel, with their strong presence, as perfect the team to reprise Yna and Angelo’s roles.</div><div><br/></div><div>“<i>Pero kung tatanungin niyo ako,</i> they deserve to be Angelo and Yna <i>kasi ang lakas lakas ng</i> love team <i>nila.</i> And <i>Pangako Sa ’Yo ang </i>foundation nu’n is love story eh,” he said.</div><div><br/></div><div>But the actor-musician was quick to add, “But let’s not forget Madame Claudia and let’s not forget Amor Powers and <i>si</i> Governor Eduardo Buenavista,<i> ‘yung </i>love triangle<i> na ‘yun. Si</i> Kathniel solved<i> na ‘yan eh, ‘yung tatlo</i> which was also<i> noong time na ‘yun, ‘yun ang pinagkakaguluhan ng mga tao.”</i></div><div><br/></div><div>As of the moment, no final casting has been made for the soap but a lot of names have already cropped up as potential stars, like Kathniel for Yna and Angelo’s roles and Jodi Sta. Maria as Amor Powers.</div><div><br/></div><div>Jericho had a few casting suggestions of his own. “A few weeks ago <i>nakita ko si</i> Mylene Dizon <i>sa </i>set<i> namin </i>and <i>magkasama kami,</i> and I said ‘<i>Bagay sayong maging</i> Amor Powers.<i>’ Siguro si</i> Carmina [Villaroel] as Madame Claudia. <i>Hindi ko pa alam kung sino ‘yung lalaki, si</i> Eduardo<i>, hindi ko masasabi kung sino,</i>” he said. “But it would be nice <i>siguro kung ‘hindi nila masyadong i</i>-<i>pe-</i>peg<i> doon sa</i> original cast and I’m sure<i> ginagawa na nila ‘yan. Iba na tayo ngayon eh, kailangan </i>timely<i>. Kailangan may</i> feel <i>ng</i> 2014.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Apart from the endless curiosity about the show’s cast, reports have it that Jericho turned down an offer to be part of the soap, an issue which he confirmed. “I’m sure <i>si </i>Kristine (Hermosa)<i> natanong din, natanong din ako </i>for a role but I had to say no because <i>ang</i> decision <i>ko talaga</i> is <i>gusto ko lang manood. Gusto kong manood ng </i>show<i> na hindi ako</i> involved,” Jericho explained.</div><div><br/></div><div>In parting, the Red star who will be portraying the role of a Bacolod-raised fixer, gave a few tips for Kathniel, should they really be tapped to be part of the phenomenal soap. “Have fun, enjoy lang… Just try to stay professional on the set and always love the people around you and always think about the people you inspire,” he said. <i>“Kami ni </i>Tin <i>‘yun ang [iniisip namin eh].</i> Although <i>ang dami naming pinagdaanang hirap noon, sa pag-shoot noon. Kasi malayo, putikan, ang daming</i> challenges, name it <i>andiyan ‘yun lahat.</i> But you know,<i> nag-e</i>-enjoy <i>kami kasi nakikita naming ‘yung </i>effect <i>ng </i>show <i>namin.</i> So it reached, Malaysia, Africa, China,<i> kung saan-saan umabot.</i> But just have fun, at the end of the day enjoy.”</div><div><br/></div><div>The 10th Cinema One Originals festival will run from November 9 to 18 at the Fairview Terraces, Glorietta, Trinoma, and Greenhills Dolby Atmos theaters. </div>
