110514-kccon_main.jpgMegastar Sharon Cuneta’s mother and KC Concepcion’s grandmother Elaine Cuneta has passed away on Wednesday, November 5 at 79 years old.

KC first took to her Twitter account to announce the sad news by posting, “Hi. I just lost the love of my life today. My Mita will forever be the BEST GRANDMA EVER. She will forever be with me. I love you, my Mita.”

She noted “My grandma will forever be my inspiration. She loved life, gave us all beautiful adventures. She knew me more than I knew myself. #SuperLola”

Earlier that day, KC even asked for prayers from her Twitter followers because her Mita is “in a make-or-break situation” by undergoing a certain operation.

According to KC, through a post on her Instagram account, she will miss the “fun times” that she used tohave with her Mita.

The Ikaw Lamang star revealed what started her Lola’s sensitive condition and said, “Complications eh, nagstart siya sa peptic ulcer tapos blood. Parang 100 bags ang nasalin na sa kanya so medyo maselan ‘yung condition niya ngayon.”

Elaine is a former beauty queen, singer, and an actress during the 50s era. Among her most notable films was Bondying. She was married to former Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta with whom she had two children: Chet and Sharon.

She is also the sister of veteran actress Helen Gamboa-Sotto.

In a GMA News article published on Wednesday, Elaine’s brother-in-law Sen. Tito Sotto revealed a few details about her passing.

According to him, she was pronounced dead at 12:06 p.m. due to “profuse bleeding and other internal complications.”

She was confined in the intensive care unit (ICU) of St. Luke's Medical Center Global City in Taguig for a month.
