John Lloyd Cruz on Angelica Panganiban: ‘It’s the most meaningful relationship I’ve ever had’

112514-JLC_main.jpgCurrently vacationing abroad with Angelica Panganiban this month, John Lloyd Cruz admitted in this month’s issue of HOLA! Philippines that he has only positive things to say about his girlfriend of two years. “We’re just a normal happy couple. Everything is going as well as possible,” he shared in the magazine. The actor had been previously linked to Ruffa Gutierrez, stylist Liz Uy and Shaina Magdayao.

The Trial star said that despite all the intrigues that have tested their relationship, he could not be any happier right now with the Banana Split actress. “She’s very mature. She lets me be who I am. She leaves room for mystery—and mistakes. It’s just a very mature relationship that I’m really enjoying right now. It’s the most meaningful relationship I’ve ever had because I have the utmost respect for her and I get to be myself,” he shared.

In his HOLA! Philippines interview, the 31-year-old actor also addressed the various professional and personal intrigues he has had to face in his almost 17 years in showbiz. “We all live a certain way and we don’t expect everyone to understand why we live that way. Of course I have my history. I’ve stumbled more than twice,” he admitted. Lloydy said he has learned to toughen up and not mind the negativity. “Otherwise, parang what good will it do to me if I dwell on it? Will I just let it ruin my day? Kung yan ang trip niyo, yan ang trip niyo,” he added.

Having been under public scrutiny for half his life, Lloydy wished people would focus more on the positive things in life. “In politics the people always forget; but in our business, nobody ever forgets. They want to keep dragging you down. What about all the good movies that you’ve done? The way you made audiences feel after walking out of the cinema? Many critics don’t remember that,” he said.
