In a report from abs-cbn.news.com, Manny Pacquiao retained his WBO Welterweight belt in a battle against American Chris Algieri.
Pacman knocked down Algieri six times, once in round two, twice in the sixth round, twice in the 9th round and another one in the 10th round.
In the first three rounds, Pacman connected well with body shots to Algieri. The fifth round was a good round for Aligieri, as he managed to keep Pacman away and “he connected with a right straight.” After two more knockdowns in the 6th round, Algieri started to wobble.
In the 9th, Algieri went down from another huge left hand from Pacman and “barely beat the count.” In the 10th round, Algieri fell again but kept on until the 12th round, giving a good fight against a more active Pacman, who was trying for a knockout.
Manny wins the fight with a score of 119-103, 119-103, and 120-102 and says he is ready to take on Floyd Mayweather next year.
