Despite the shelving of their supposed fantasy series Inday Bote, young love team Nash Aguas and Alexa Ilacad, collectively known as NLex, are very much grateful about being chosen for their first ever titular soap Bagito.
During the press conference of their upcoming soap, Alexa shared that they actually felt more comfortable about the idea of doing drama than fantasy.
Nash for his part stressed that they are happy that they are given a new concept since “‘yung Inday Bote po kasi may magic-magic po siya so parang Wansapanataym. So ito po bago po talaga ito samin and talagang major teleserye napo siya.”
The 16-year-old former child star also admitted that while he has always dreamt of bagging a lead role, he never really imagined the amount of responsibility that came with it until he taped for Bagito.
“Akala ko sobrang dali lang pero ngayon na-realize ko na na sobrang dami palang responsibilities ng bida and talagang sobrang pressured po ako noong una,” he confessed.
For his first ever major teleserye, Nash will be taking on the role of Drew, a 14-year-old teenager who becomes a young father after impregnating a college girl named Vanessa as portrayed by Ella Cruz.
Meron pa po silang pinakita sakin na 13-years-old na nagkaroon ng anak,” he shared when asked if he felt that he got a father role quite a little early.
According to Nash, he said yes to the project because, “Parang sakin, ako 16 na naman ako, so parang talagang nangyayari na ito sa totoong buhay so alangan naman pong tanggihan ko kasi marami po kaming matutulungan kapag ginawa po naming ang teleserye dahil marami pong magiging aware sa problem.”
Alexa for her part would be taking on the role of Camille, Drew’s overachiever best friend and childhood sweetheart.
Knowing that they have such a strong clout especially online, Nash and Alexa shared that they were initially apprehensive as to how their fans would take on their new project especially since they were both known for portraying teenybopper roles.
Before their soap could be written off as PG-13, Alexa stressed that it was actually done tastefully and carefully by director Onat Diaz.
Walang censored na part,” she shared.
Since it was done with great sensitivity to the subject matter, Alexa believes that fans from different age groups would be able to learn from and enjoy their upcoming soap.
