The Voice Kids finalist Darre Espanto said he looked forward to seeing his family and friends in Canada again. Sa North America tour ko ito yung the Total Performance tour, homecoming ko po ito, kaya sana nag-enjoy sila sa concert ko and this is different from what you've seen from me in The Voice so they can expect more,” he shared.
Darren said that after joining the show, he also misses some parts of life before showbiz. “In my old life basically miss ko yung pwede kami pumunta sa mall, mag-bonding.
With his solo album coming out soon, coinciding with The Voice Kids All-In Concert on December 6 at the PICC Plenary Hall, Darren said he is both excited and nervous over how people will receive his solo project. “It's all original compositions so it's different from what I've done in The Voice kaya sana ma-enjoy niyo,” he said.
Darren is also part of The Voice Kids album along with Lyca Gairanod and the five other finalists from the show. If there was one lesson he learned from his coach on the show, Darren said it is to be confident always. Just always believe in yourself and mabait ka lang parati, keep your feet on the ground and you'll make it.' So yun yung tips ni coach Sarah sa akin,” he added.
With a big fan following of his own, Darren admitted he is aware of how protective his supporters can be of him but he does not approve of his fans fighting with other fans of The Voice Kids, especially those of grand winner Lyca Gairanod. One big happy family po tayo,” he explained.
Off-cam, he said there is really no rivalry between him and his The Voice Kids co-finalists whom he also considers to be his good friends. “Backstage before we perform we always pray. We actually play as a group kasi sa iPad.
Having admitted that he also wants to pursue acting in the future, Darren said he would love to get the chance to work with any of his two celebrity crushes from the Kapamilya network.
The Voice Kids The Album is available at record stores nationwide. It is also available for download on iTunes and streaming via Spotify, Deezer, and Guvera. The Voice All-In The Concert will be held on December 6, 8 pm at the PICC Plenary Hal with special guests The Voice of the Philippines grand champion Mitoy Yonting and runner-up Klarisse De Guzman.
