Richard Gutierrez admits that he and Sarah Lahbati speak about settling down every now and then.
For real-life couple Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati, tying the knot is not something that they want to rush into.
“We don't want to just dive into it because people are pressuring us to do it already,” Richard told members of the press in a recent interview. “We just want to take our sweet time and enjoy our time with baby Zion.”
Stressing that they are still making the most of their “smooth sailing relationship” this year, Richard is seemingly taking off from the legal battle faced by Sarah against their home network last year. An issue, which has already been resolved a few months back.
Will there be a wedding first before Zion gets a sibling? “As of now, kami ni Sarah, we're happy where we are right now. We're both working. Working parents kami. This year has been smooth for us. We're enjoying every minute of it,” Richard said.
“So let's see kung ano ang mauuna next year,” he continued.
Richard admitted that the subject of marriage is something that has figured in their conversations. "We're planning things, we're discussing things. We don't want to rush. Gusto namin lahat pulido. Wait and see na lang tayo," he explained.
According to Richard, they would want themselves to be well-prepared emotionally, spiritually and mentally should they decide to exchange “I dos.”
“Of course, that would be the next step. That would be the next step for us,” the actor-host added.
The new mainstay of the reality show for her part said: “Right now, we're just very happy.”
Sarah added, “We're taking it one step at a time and we're trying to focus on Zion. He's growing up so fast so we're taking it one step at a time.”
Meanwhile, the couple openly admitted that they remain to be in the “adjustment stage” as far as parenting is concerned.
“It’s a learning process but we’re enjoying every minute of it,” Richard said. “It’s good and exciting. You know Zion is growing really fast, now he’s starting to walk and starting to talk and learning so many things. He really brings so much joy to the family.”
According to Richard, they are trying their best to be hands-on parents to Zion despite their respective busy schedules.
“I think ang pinakasusi sa parenting namin ngayon is ‘yun bina-balance namin ‘yung oras namin kasi we’re both working. So, kung sino man ang may free time siya ang sasama kay Zion, ayun give-and-take,” Richard explained.
Sarah for her part shared that Zion has totally shifted their perspectives ever since he came into their lives. “Ever since I became a mom and Chard became a dad we both matured so much ibang-iba na ‘yung mundo mo. You just become inspired to work harder and your only focus is Zion,” she said.
