While the public has been anticipating Toni Gonzaga finally tying the knot with longtime boyfriend Paul Soriano, sister Alex Gonzaga is less than eager about the idea. Sana ‘wag pa muna,” Alex revealed during an interview after the press conference of The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 which is set to return on October 26 with the Gonzaga sisters as well as Robi Domingo and Luis Manzano as hosts.
With celebrity proposals happening left and right this year, Toni, as one of the few stars who is in a longtime relationship, has been asked when she would finally walk down the aisle.
Many thought that Toni’s boyfriend Paul would propose to her during her recently-concluded 15th anniversary concert Celestine but it didn’t happen.
The Pure Love star shared that she doesn’t want her sister to get married yet for one simple reason: “Kasi kakatayo lang nung kwarto namin. Bago pa lang eh kaya ayaw kong maiwan mag-isa.”
But Alex was quick to clarify that her statement doesn’t mean that she doesn’t like her sister’s boyfriend of seven years.
Meanwhile, Alex, who has had the chance to work with Luis for two seasons of The Voice now—first was for The Voice Kids and this time for the second season of The Voice of the Philippines–has nothing but good words for the host-comedian.
Never niya ipapa-feel na mataas ako. Sobrang sarap niyang katrabaho tapos kapag mahihirap binibigay namin sa kanya,” she said about her co-host.
As for her sister, Alex confessed that she gets intimidated by Toni’s presence. This is the reason why there are times that she prefers to work with her touted mail counterpart, Luis. “Always meron. So na-appreciate ko naman ‘yun,” she admitted to the members of the press.
