Sarah Geronimo named  MTV EMA’s Best Southeast Asia Act

102414-sarah_,ain.jpgSarah Geronimo was named as MTV Europe Music Awards' Best Southeast Asia Act for 2014. The Voice of the Philippines coach bested Up Dharma Down of the Philippines, Yuna of Malaysia, Stefanie Sun of Singapore, NOAH and Agnez Mo of Indonesia, and Slot Machine of Thailand after an online voting contest.

As the winner of the region, Sarah will now be advancing to the next round of the competition where she will be up against acts from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The Filipina singer will be competing against Hebe Tien of Taiwan and Bibi Zhou of China.

Fans can vote for Sarah until October 29 at On October 30, the results will be revealed. The act with the highest number of votes will represent the region as its WorldWide Act nominee. She will compete against nine other nominees from various regions in the world. The WorldWide Act winner will be announced on November 9 at the MTV EMA show.
