Jake also reveals how he got accepted in The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Actor Jake Cuenca revealed his thoughts on getting married and going to an acting class abroad to Tapatan ni Tunying
’s Anthony Taberna.
Currently in a relationship with Filipino-Australian Chanel Olive Thomas, Jake said that he is not yet ready to settle down. “Basta ang importante sa’kin alagaan ko muna yung girlfriend ko ng maigi tapos tignan natin kung saan mapupunta to,” he said.
Recalling the struggles he had to endure when he began his career, he wished back then for good roles that would showcase his acting skills. True enough, Jake got the breaks he wished for when he moved to ABS-CBN in 2006. “Laking pasasalamat ko sa ex-girlfriend ko na si Roxanne (Guinoo) na nag-click rin kami noong ‘Natutulog Ba ang Diyos?’ Dun talaga nagsimula yung parang ‘uy nararamdaman ko na artista ako,” said the Ikaw Lamang Book 1 star.
Now, Jake is bound to leave for the States for a month of master class in acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute where according to him, Hollywood celebrities also studied. As to how he got in to the program, he said that he was nominated for the Best Actor category in an award-giving body abroad. “Nagkataon na yung mga teacher sa Lee Strasberg, napanood nila yung pelikula ko… Nag-apply ako,” he said, adding that he submitted his resume and an essay explaining why he wants to study there.
Jake, who wants to be a writer and producer too, said that he is open to the possibility of entering Hollywood if there is an opportunity. However, for now he said, “Pero ang pinaka-importante naman sa’kin talaga ay mag-aral lang at makapagbigay ng maganda performances dito sa audience ko dito sa Pilipinas.”
