Cathy Garcia-Molina on Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano: ‘Nakikita ko na parang they like each other’

In an interview with the director, she relayed that the soap is a story about second chances. “<i>When it was pitched to me, they've told me that it is a story of second chances. It's not about first love dadaanan lang siya so the pilot is really far from what the show really is.</i>”</div><div><br/></div><div>She also shared that the show will be a romantic-comedy just like <i>Got To Believe</i>. “<i>After Got To Believe when we first ventured in rom-com parang my apprehensions kasi baka hindi mag-work dahil sanay pag teleserye dapat drama pero Got To Believe parang nag succeed naman na mapatawa ang audience, ma-in love ganyan parang nag-decide na baka gusto nila ulit ng isa pa</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Direk Cathy added, “<i>When they said it’s going to be Enrique (Gil) and Liza (Soberano) sabi ko bago din, never pa naman nakita together [sa TV] so parang bagay lang din don sa tono na hindi naman lang siya drama, hindi rin naman siya comedy so it’s a combination of romance and comedy.</i>”</div><div><br/></div><div>When asked about how different Enrique and Liza’s tandem is from Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s (whom she directed in Got To Believe and She’s Dating the Gangster), she said, “<i>Si Quen (Enrique) kasi ngayon ko lang nakatrabaho, so nagi-experiment pa kami how to make him different form all the other shows he's done in the past. Si Liza naman second time ko ng nakawork na alam naman natin na Liza is coming off from playing a not so good character kasi pumasok siya sa triangle ng KathNiel so siyempre hindi maiiwasan maraming may ayaw sa kanya because she was paired with a very strong love team so ‘yon ‘yung intention namin sana makalimutan nila that Liza may sarili siya and I am so happy na Liza is stepping up, she is very different from Kathryn, si Quen he is different from Daniel, incomparable ‘yung tandem nila</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Direk Cathy confessed that she can feel that a real-life romance blossoming between Enrique and Liza.  “P<i>arang crush naman nila ang isa’t isa. Parang they seem to… it’s parang premature ‘to siya but nakikita ko na parang they like each other</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Direk Cathy said she hopes that Enrique and Liza will grow more as actors after the soap. “<i>With the journey of the characters in the show will be the journey of Quen and Liza and I hope after this show they will be better actors.  They have it: they want to learn, they have the motivation and they like what they’re doing and they’re very good children</i>.”</div>
